That's how early I had to wake to catch my plane. I knew that coach got me an early flight, so that we could have some time with each other, just having a teambonding after not seeing each other for a long time, but I didn't know it would be this early. It's ridiculous.
I take my bag from the trunk and slam it close. I make sure I have everything like my passport, my wallet etc.
"You have everything?"
I jump, not expecting someone to talk to me. I was thinking so hard, I didn't even notice the brown haired girl getting out of the car.
Y/n decided to drive me to the airport, so she woke up early for me. Which I am kind of amazed by. That girl needs her sleep. Literally. She can lay down and fall asleep not 5 minutes after and sometimes she sleeps until 1 pm. I wish I could do that do, but I always wake up early which has become a habbit from my early practices. Not that I mind to be honest. It gives me more time to do things. Y/n doesn't leave yet. She leaves a day after me, so tomorrow. And on a more reasonable hour.
"I think so", I roll my luggage to the entry. "But I am sure if I forgot something, I can always borrow it from one of the girls"
"Yeah that's true"
We walk to my gate, but not without stopping for some coffee, Well hot chocolate for Y/n since she doesn't drink coffee, and somehting to eat.
"I'll see you in three weeks? or maybe if we have to play against each other"
I smile at the girl. I'm going to miss her, not seeing her all day. Not hearing her voice or her laugh. But I am excited to see my teammates again. We have become very close since I joined the team and I hope to keep it like that because our team dynamic has become better on the field as a result of our friendship.
"I am going to miss you, Y/n", I say as I stand up. My flight has just been called to boarding. And I still have to check in and everything so I have to leave soon.
"I am going to miss you too, Mal", she wraps her arms around my waist, pulling me into a hug. I wraps my arms around her neck, pulling her closer to me. I inhale her scent for ther last time.
I pull back and take my bagpack and luggage with me.
"Bye Mal"
"Bye Y/nn"

I just got dropped of at the building we are staying. The driver of the uber just dropped me and drove off, not even checking if I got everything out of the car. Luckily I did.
"Hey stranger"
I turn around and see one of mu teammates walking towards me. The sun shining on her pale skin, yet she doesn't get a tan.
"Rose! I missed you". We hug and greet each other before she takes my luggage and helps me to my room. I am rooming with Kelley this camp, which is going to be fun but also a lot. Kelley doesn't stop.
When we walk in almost everybody is here. My roommate was accompanied by almost all our teammates except for Carli and Julie.
"Hey guys", I smile brightly. I give everyone a hug and tell them how much I have missed them.
"So Mal how has college been treating you?"
It was Alex who asked the question. To be honest, I don't really know the answer to that question. I mean college has been great until now, but that's just because of my friends there. I don't really know if I want to study more. But I'm not going to tell them now. They will tell me I have to study because college is important. I just wanna do what I want to do. Without any pressure.
"It's been great. I've made really good friends there"
I mean. I didn't lie. I have made really good friends there. Not only Y/n, but also Jessie and Teagan and others.
"Maybe someone more than friends?", Kelley wiggles her eyebrows suggestively. I feel my face burn, but that's more from the attention than from the thought of a certain person.
"Nah. Nobody interesting", I answer to get them of my back. I see Christen and Tobin share a look between the two of them, but I can't really pinpoint what it was about so I let it go.
They let the conversation go, not pushing me to answer which I am very glad about. We decided to watch a movie. It took really long to choose the movie. Tobin and some others wanted to watch a horror movie, while some others wanted to watch a romantic movie and then you had another group who wanted to watch a disney movie. It didn't really matter to me. At the end, one girl of each group had to compete in a rock, scissors, paper game. Tobin ended up winning and decided to watch the movie IT.
At the very beginning of the movie, where little George loses his arm to IT, I heard most of the girls scream while I chuckle a little bit, remembering a comment Y/nn had given during this particular scene.
"Aren't you scared, Mal?", I hear Tobin ask me. Normally, during this sort of movies, I am the one screaming and hiding behind everyone, but right now I don't really have a reaction which shocked some of our teammates.
"No. I've already seen this movie with Y/nn", I tell, forgetting that besides Tobin and Christen nobody knows who Y/n is.
"Ooh Y/nn? Who is Y/nn?", Kelley smirks, the movie completely forgotten as she turns to get a better look at me.
"My roommate"
"Oh. They were roommates"
Did she just quote some Vine? How old is she.
"Is she sweet? Do you like her? Is she pretty?" So many questions are thrown to my head I couldn't really follow to answer them.
"Chill. One at the time please", I ask and push Kelley away, who was in my face asking many questions. "Christen and Tobin met her when they were visiting me".
"Can we see a picture?", someone asks. I can't really tell who asked it, but I took my phone out and show them Y/n's latest instagram pic.
