Mal's Point of view
Today is the day that we play our first game in our new school. We have been practicing for quite sometime and I feel like we are ready for our first game, but I also fee like everything can you in the way you least expect it.
I am excited to play with Y/n. Although I feel like she isn't herself sometimes these past couple of days? I feel like something is wrong, but I don't want to push her. But there are good days too. Today seems like a good day.
"Y/nn!", I yell excited as I jump and down. "It's game day!".
"Yeah baby!", She bounces up and down with me. She starts running around like a madman and does a cartwheel, but like a horrible one. It didn't even look like a cartwheel, her legs were barely in the air. I burst out in laughing at her weird antics.
"Cmon weirdo, we have to go", I ruffle her hair. She pushed me away playfully, trying to put the short hairs back in place. "Cmoooon. We are going to be late".
We walk into the changing rooms and I greet everyone while Y/n changes in one of the apart stalls. The team never questioned why she does it, but I know they are curious why she does it. I don't think it really matters though, but I also know that I can't speak for everybody.
I leave the room at the same time Y/n leaves her stall. We go to warm up together and talk to our teammates a little bit. In the corner of my eyes, I can see Y/n talking to Jessie. The girl is really shy, but when she is with Y/n she is really talkative. I think it's because of Y/n's personality. She has this personality where she can just talk to someone without making them uncomfortable or hating. It's just she has one of those smile, if you just looks at it you have to smile as well, you can't hold it back. She always lights up my day.
Y/n and I are both starting the game. The game is against Stanford. I am kind of nervous, since it's a really good team. But I hope we will do better.
We all take our places at the field and wait anxiously for it to start. Once the ball is passed to one of the people on field, I start running, feeling really in my element. I really like soccer. It's not just my hobby anymore. It's my passion, my life.

The game just ended and we lost. It is 2-1 for Stanford. I shake the hands of the players of the opposite team and congratulate them on the amazing game.
I sigh sadly and rub my face. Even thoug I had fun playing soccer, I am still sad we lost. It's not that we played bad, it's just that they were better. Hopefully next year, we are going to beat them.
"Mal!", I hear someone yell. I turn around and see Y/n running to me. She pulls me in a hug. "You scored", she cheers and jumps up and down excitedly.
I chuckle and push her sweaty body away from me. "I couldn't have done it without your assist".
"Yeah yeah", she rolls her eyes playfully. She wraps her arm around my shoulder as we wal, to the lockerroom. When we go to our coach, I see some familiary figures standing there, talking to each other.
"Christen! Tobin!", I scream and run towards them. I jump in Christens arms, happy to see her. "I missed you", I mumble in her neck as some tears leaves my eyes. She whispers in my ear back, "I missed you too baby".
"What about me kid?", I hear Tobin chuckle from beside us. I hug her too, inhaling her sent. I pull back and look at them.
"What are you guys doing here?"
"Well we didn't want to miss your first game here and we missed you", Christen says and pulls me in a hug once again.
"Now is that the girl you keep talking about?", Tobin smirks and points at Y/n who is drinking some water at the side.
"Yeah that's Y/n. You wanna meet her?", I ask and see them share a knowing smile between the two of them. I raise my eyebrow, trying to understand what's going on. I just shake it off and call the short haired girl over. She comes to stand besides me and smiles at me. I smile back, feeling this warm feeling in my stomach.
"Y/n, this are Christen and Tobin. Guys, this is Y/n", the girl next to me gives a wave to the others and smiles brightly "Hi".
"Hey, it's nice to meet you. Mal talks about you all the time", Christen smirks as she hugs Y/n. The girl looks at me with one eyebrow raised. I just blush and look away. I don't talk about her that much right? Besides, I talk about my friends all the time, it's not a big deal.
"Only good things I hope".
"Well, she tolds us that when you were younger you used to think that shaved sheep become goats", Tobin laughs. It is kind of a really funny story. How could someone think that? I mean, even if you are 10 years old, it is really weird to think like that.
"Mal!", Y/n screeches. I just laugh at her. "Well then. Has she told you about how she fell on her face the other day". I quickly cover her mouth with my hand and pull her into my. "We are going to get changed. We will meet you back here", I tell Preath. They just laugh and nod. I pull the girl to our lockerroom to get changed. Everyone has alreeady left, since we wee talking quite some time out there. Y/n gets changed with me in the room and not in one of the stalls. I am happy she is comfortable to get changed in front of me. She turns her back to me when she pulls of her shirt and pulls on a proper shirt quickly before she turns back to me. I didn't really think anything of it.
When we return back to my two teammates, we all decide to go eat somewhere.
Christen, Tobin and Y/n really seemed to get along well. Christen has already picked up that motherly figure that she has with me. It's kind of really cute to see. Maybe I can talk to her, ask her how she would deal with talking to Y/n. I really wanna know what's going on, but I also don't want to push her. Maybe she will come to me when she is ready.
The girl who I was just thinking about looks at me and smiles. And in that moment I knew everything is going to be okay.
