I went on this date with a super handsome man that I thought was straighter than a wooden board at first. He was in my friend group and would flirt with everyone so I didn't find any harm in it and paid it no attention. Well after hanging out he called me o er and asked if I wanted to get food. He knew of a cute little spot and wanted to go with me. I thought it was all friendly until we got in the car. I had a major crush on him but I thought he was straight and I was a gay man.
I buckled my seatbelt and we started driving. We were laughing and talking and having an amazing time. His hand found comfort in my inner thigh but I don't find it weird.
Once we got to the place he opened the car door for me and we walked hand in hand to the hole-in-the-wall diner. We sat outside behind the diner where the fake trees had lights hanging on them making it a super pretty atmosphere.
"So... tell me a little about yourself. We don't really talk just the two of us when we are with the group." His hand was holding mine over the table and he smiled at me.
"Well um... I am 20 yrs old born in July. I live alone and am going to school full time but working part-time. What else do you want to know." He licked his lips and smiled.
"I want to know why you thought I was straight when I was very obvious with my feels towards you" I facepalmed making him laugh.
"I just... I don't know you seemed to go to be true. Or maybe I was in denial" he smiled at me sweetly.
"Or could it be that I am famous?" I shook my head quickly.
"No that has nothing to do with it. Well kinda. I never want to assume sexuality with anyone no matter who it is. But I am also super oblivious to my surroundings which is why I didn't see your advances." I made myself smaller if that was even possible.
"Hm, I guess you don't know too much about me either. Well... I am Yeonjun I work for TXT but I am a different person when it comes to work and friends. The thing I am sure about though is that I want to get to know you more and eventually be Yeonjun, (y/n)'s partner... who will cherish and protect him no matter what..." I smiled. The men I have dated were closeted gays, questioning men, or assholes. He was different and that made me feel like I was in a BL.
"I would like that as well" I smiled.
"Good because even if you didn't want to say I would be trying my hardest to get you to at least notice me" he laughed.
"You seem extremely sure of yourself. Don't get cocky Mr. Yeonjun." I laughed.
We finished eating and he paid putting me in my place nicely but firmly when I said I could pay for my portion. He took me home and exchanged numbers.
We texted the rest of the week when we could and talked on FaceTime often. Tonight the group was getting together at the usual hang out and I was a little nervous. We hadn't really had time to tell the group.
I walked in and saw Yeonjun sitting on the couch with a cup in his hand. I made my way over to the group prepared for him to be cold and dismissive like my exes.
"Hey sorry I am late" I smiled and made eye contact with Yeonjun. He got up and hugged me pecking my cheek.
"I am happy you made it you should have told me to pick you up" I froze but he pulled me into his lap. The group was looking at us with smiles wanting us to elaborate.
"So are you gonna make us wait until you have gotten married and adopted 3 kids before you tell us anything or will we need to walk in on you two getting hot and heavy for confirmation," Cherry asked smirking.
"Shut up Cherry we are taking things slow for now but I like him and I hope he likes me as well and that's all you need to know it's none of your business just get used to a lot of skinship whenever we are together." I blushed and hid my face in his neck.
"Awe look you made him shy" I flipped them off and took a sip of his drink. It was just soda which confirmed he was not drunk.
The night went on and he asked me to go outside with him for a moment. Intertwining our fingers holding hands the group starts teasing and cheering as we walk away.
"Sorry I needed some space from those psychos" he laughed.
"No it's okay I did too" he wrapped his arms around my body back hugging me while we took a second to recollect.
"Is something on your mind you have been quiet" I looked down and turned to face him.
"No, not really just... I didn't think you would be so open about everything. You were around when I was with my ex so you know... it just caught me off guard" he cupped my face in his right hand while his left was wrapped around my waist holding me close to his body.
"I want everyone to know who I like and who I am with. I want to show you off and kiss you and hug you and hold your hand everywhere no matter who is there and where we are at." I smiled so big.
"Kiss me please" He chuckled and placed his lips gently on mine. The kiss was sweet and soft.
"Hey, we are- ope sorry didn't mean to interrupt you two!" Jane shut the door quickly but we heard her yell. 'They are kissing it's official' Yeonjun laughed but pulled me into another kiss.
