I have been dating Yeonjun for about a year and 8 months give or take. Things were good except I was meeting his mom for the first time oh and I just found out I am pregnant this morning. I haven't told him because I want to see how meeting his mom turns out.
"We are here. Are you ready baby?" I was snapped out of my thoughts by his cold hand on my thigh.
"Yeah I am ready" I smile sweetly at him as we get out of the car.
Nervous was an understatement I was completely petrified by what was yet to come.
We walk in hand in hand as he greets his sister first then his parents. I politely greet them with nervousness very apparent in my voice.
"Mom, Dad... This is my Girlfriend (y/n). We have been together for almost 2 years." I smile as he puts his arm around my waist. The tension was pretty high as my heart started to pound faster and faster. My cheeks turn really red during basically and uncomfortable situation because of my rosacea. Today it was pretty bad especially during this moment, but no one pointed it out. I could just feel it.
We sat quietly at the dinner table eating. I could see that Yeonjun was not happy in any way shape or form. His mom starts trash talking me in Korean. I just lower my eyes as his dad realizes I understand everything she is saying.
"Did you understand what she said" His dad asked me, and I just nod my head.
"Yes, sir I am fluent" I reply as his moms eyes widen in shock and embarrassment.
She starts yelling now at the both of us. I am pretty calm unlike Yeonjun. I had a bad feeling about coming today but I just thought it was finding out I was pregnant. Obviously, it wasn't.
"Um... Don't worry Mrs. Choi I will go if you want and I will stop being with your son. Family is everything and I don't want to come between it." I smile and excuse myself as I walk to the door. I hear Yeonjun yelling before running after me.
"No please don't go. We can work through this. She will warm up to you." I turn around and fake a smile trying to hide the tears threatening to fall.
"Don't worry Yeonjun. I will be okay. You know how I feel about family staying together after what happened to mine. I just wish this was a different circumstance. I will um... I will miss you." I see his parents behind him, and his mom has a proud face on while his dad is shaking his head. I hand him the pregnancy test before walking out and getting on a bus home.
Yeonjuns POV
"what did she give you son" my dad asks as I look down at the positive pregnancy test and start to cry. My mom was shocked at the way I was acting but I didn't care I loved her and now knowing I was going to be a dad made this whole situation with her even worst.
"A positive pregnancy tests. That is what she gave me. I am going to be a father and probably not even get to be with my baby because mom hates her, and she has very strong family values because of what happened to her family." I choke out taking deep breaths trying not to lash out.
"What she is pregnant?" My mom gasps out.
"Yeah she is. Way to go mom." I walk to the backyard and sit there for a while before I hear my mom and dad arguing. I didn't care. She had literally ruined my family and I was beyond mad at her. All of a sudden, I hear the back door open and my mom sits next to me. I turn around and see my dad watching through the window.
"Yeonjun... I am sorry for what I caused today. I am a very protective mama bear and I should have gotten to know her better. She was very polite and nice, and I should have given her the benefit of the doubt. Please forgive me for acting so horribly today."
"I forgive you; I just don't know how to fix this situation. I love her Mom and I want to be with her forever, and I want to raise our baby together, but her family values when it comes to immediate family are so strong, I don't know if this is fixable." I put my head in my knees before explaining to my mom what happened with her family and why she feels so strong about this situation. We talked a little longer before she gave me the green light.
"If you love her fight for her. Go after her, just don't let her go. Everything you have told me about her... you need that in your life, and you need her to be the mother of your children for sure." I hug her before getting up and getting in my car to go to her apartment and win her back. I will get my happy family and I will make sure she does too.
