You know when you watch Teen movies there is the main character. She usually is really pretty and gets all the guys but has all the problems because she is pretty and rich? Well yeah that's not me. Do you know the girl's secret best friend that usually is a nerd and always gets overlooked because of her best friend, has her own problems, is not the best looking but the personality is great? Yeah now that's me.
It may sound cheesy but I live the scenario of Teen movies but with a twist.
I am in love with my best friend. He is the main character in this story. He is almost perfect. He is multitalented, good looking, and all the girls and boys swoon over him. We have been friends since as long as I can remember. When we entered high school things seemed to change. I went quiet and had no friends. He became popular and had a huge group. He never left my side though. It was nice because I knew one day it would all end. I wouldn't be his favorite girl anymore, more like an acquaintance that knows too much about him.
We finished high school and were now sophomores in college. I was surprised he had not left my side yet. He had a few short term relationships but they never seemed to stick. I had not had eyes on anyone but him for the longest time so dating was pretty much out of the question. Many people were intimidated by me being so close to Yeonjun anyways so they usually stayed away.
I had become best friends with a sweet girl that had all her classes with me and we usually tried to pick the same ones at the same time. She was really pretty but sweet and wouldn't take shit from anyone when it came to me. I had not told her I was in love with Yeonjun because she was and I knew I didn't have a chance so why try. I have always heard you never know unless you try but I pretty much knew how that situation was going to end if I confessed to him. BUT... if I had to pick anyone for him I am glad its Mimi.
"Hey how is my favorite girl doing today?" Yeonjun walked over to where we were sitting and put his arm around me giving my head which peck.
"UM... who said she is your favorite girl she is MY favorite girl." MIMI and Yeonjun started a playful argument while I rolled my eyes and smiled at them. When they were done agreeing that i am both their favorite girl they turned their attention back to me.
"So (Y/N) there is this new freshman that has heard about you and wants to ask you out." MIMI looked at Yeonjun to see his reaction.
"Um.. no she isn't allowed to date anyone." I looked over at him and scoffed.
"I am older than you, you know that right? Plus why am I not allowed to date? My crush doesn't like me. Actually no one has liked me ever. So I am interested in what he can offer, and honestly who gave you the power to make that decision about my life?" Yeonjuns eyes widened and jaw dropped. MIMI looked at me concerned since I had not shared this information with any of the two.
"(y/n) I-I-"
"Don't worry about it, I don't care. I have come to the conclusion I will stay alone forever." I got up and took my things before walking away. They both started calling after me but I ignored them and kept walking.
I got to the middle of campus when I bumped into a tall handsome man with dimples deeper than the Mariana trench.
"Oh I am sorry" He started but stopped when he looked at me properly.
"Oh no it was my fau- Why are you smiling at me?" I asked confused.
"You are (Y/N)! I am Soobin the guy that has been wanting to meet you." I smiled but then looked down a little sad.
"Well here I am nothing too special" He lifted my face by my chin to look me straight in the eye.
"You are beautiful do not say anything less than that." The red spread across my cheeks pretty quick. "Are you busy? I would like to buy you lunch if you are up for it?" I nodded and he took my bag off my back and slung it over his shoulder. He then put arm around my shoulders. The whispers coming from everyone were overwhelming but we both ignored them.
NOONE POV
While (Y/N) was basically getting swept off her feet by the smooth man Yeojun was watching them practically steaming at someone else showing her affection. Watching yeonjun was MIMI smiling. She did have a huge crush on Yeonjun but she could see right through the both of us and knew the truth. She was happy Yeonjun was finally realizing her feelings for you but sad because it might be too late. She had a plan to help you both when she finally realized what you two feel for each other but things were not going as planned since Soobin walked into the problem.

"Thank you for this lunch. It was great." I smiled up at Soobin. We were at my apartment door. The same apartment I shared with MIMI and Yeonjun.
"I am glad you liked it. I hope we can do this again." His dimples and smile really made me feel some type of way.
"Yeah I would like that" We said our goodbyes and he kissed the top of my hand like a gentleman.
I walked in the door to see Yeonjun passed out with a bunch of empty alcohol bottles and MIMI cleaning up a mess on the floor.
"What the hell happened in here?" Mimi looked at yeonjun then to you and sighed.
"Sit down we need to talk" My heart was racing when she said that to me.
"Is something bad going on." She shook her head as we both sat at our kitchen table.
