CHAPTER THIRTY-ONE
ADELAIDE
I had been rubbing at the ropes of my wrist against the old part of the dead tree for hours now. The girls are all asleep. I know that they'll kill me in the morning and I won't let them.
The girls had tied me and kept me away from them.
"If you get attached to her, then how will you kill her?" Teresa had said.
Well, turned out a silver lining chance of escape to me.
My hands are paining so much as if it will fall any moment but I keep rubbing my wrists. I don't even know if it is working or not, but this is my only shot.
Suddenly, there is a rustling sound. I stop short and look around.
Fiona approaches me, a thermos cup tucked under her arms.
Though I trust her the most, I still don't want her to know about my escapade plan. I put on my tired and stressed expression and look at her questioningly.
"I tried to talk them out of it, you know? But Teresa is like a leech," she spits. "doesn't let us alone for a moment."
"Is that why you are here? To tell me that I'm actually gonna die? Even after you've got the prove that she's lying about all of the crap she told you?"
She tears open my restrains and sits in front of me, keeping the thermos between us. "You know, you misunderstand us far too much."
I eye the thermos, feeling that it is not filled with water. "You all haven't exactly been all to sisterly with me, have you? Or it might be that punching, hurting, dragging one all over the stones are some of the sisterly bonding you do, but that's not what the world does."
Fiona scrunches her nose, "Why are you so bitter?"
"Oh forgive me, I really should handle my death sentence like a party invitation." I snap back.
"You shut up and listen to me." A pair of emerald eyes glare at me. "Teresa had told us that all the whole she'd been gone today, she met a WICKED representative. They'd told her to kill you by tonight and that they have their eyes on us. So even if we wanted, we couldn't have let you go.- they'd kill us."
"So.. this is it? You're gonna kill me?"
Fiona shakes her head. "We're not gonna kill you. Harriet told Teresa that much. Looks like Teresa was more than happy to do the honors herself."
I raise my eyebrows.
I am gonna snap her neck before she can even blink. Thomas has to find some another, less bitchier girlfriend.
Fiona unscrews the thermos cup and pours the liquid into the cup. She offers it to me.
I tilt my head looking at her with all the hatred I can. "I prefer not to be drugged up when I am murdered."
