NEWT

I always knew that Tommy was nuts. I mean, that shank just went down the bloody air vents as he thought something was fishy.

How can anything be fishy? They saved us from WICKED. They gave us food and bed. Not to mention those soft mattresses and they're also gonna take us to the save haven.

What is wrong in that?

I fiddle with my fingers as my leg bounce on my toes. I am really worried about Addie. She should have been with me right now. With us. Not alone.

She had just started to mourn Stan and now Chuck died. I know that it will again negatively impact her mental health.

What if she gets worse this time? I know the signs, does Teresa? I don't even know if she's with her right now.

Why have they separated us?

Tommy jumps in, kicking the metal door of the vent away. "Shit! We have to get the girls back." He darts around the room in panic.

"What? What happened?" Tommy stops. "The guys. Who saved us. They're all dead. Someone hung them in rows, and there-there were tubes attached to their bodies. But they're very much dead."

I don't have to care about anyone. This place is insane and Addie is not with me. I quickly stride to the door and twist the brass knob, surprisingly finding it open. I look back at the boys, staring at me with anxious expression before I slowly push the door open.

The whole hallway is darkened and deserted. I carefully scan for any danger after I take a step into the hall. The boys pile in after me. Tommy breaks into a run, seemingly confident about the way. We follow them.

I swear to God if something happens to my girl.

Tommy skids stop in front of a door. It has a placard on it.

Teresa Agnes

Adelaide Duncan

Tommy twists the door knob but it doesn't budge.

"It's locked." He looks at us in exasperation.

"Really, genius?" Minho folds his arm in front of his chest. "No wonder you were named after Edison. Such an amazing ability to think!"

I pay no heed to this usually useless bickering and feel my heart beat faster as I scan around the halls for something to help.

An fire extinguisher catches my eye. I quickly get it and smash it onto the door knob. A loud crack accompanies a deeper crunch and I hit it again. And again. On the third try, it finally breaks. I push the door open and we all rush in.
