  NEWT

I see Addie walk out of the burnt out tent and trudge towards the remaining of our friends, gathered in a loose circle.

Addie had fainted in my arms last night, with all the blood loss. We had immediately taken her to one of the still, standing tents. Sonya had been a Med-jack in their Glade and she treated Addie, taking out her bullet.

She remained unconscious throughout the night.

Addie walks towards us, with a hollow and weary smile of greeting in her face and sits down beside me.

We don't say anything for a while, just sit in dead silence. I glance at Addie and see her staring off to the space. My heart breaks to see the girl I love look so broken.

She had just gotten over Stan and Chuck.

I place a hand on her cheek and turn her towards me gently.

"Love.."

"I'm fine, Newt." She whispers.

I look into her eyes, those beautiful mocha eyes with which had become my favorite color. Her eyes now hold a broken light.

I don't say anything. There is nothing else to say. I just pull her into my arms and hug her tightly, for she had again lost people who matters to her a lot-Minho.

ADELAIDE

As the early morning turns to late afternoon, I find myself staring a rectangular box of bullets. We are still cleaning the base, collecting all the ammo that were still usable and discarding the ones which are damaged.

I just can't seem to keep one good thing in my life, can I?

As if he'd heard my thoughts, Newt comes in and kisses the top of my head. He never fails to remind me that no matter what, he is with me.

"Will you come out? We are sitting out." I nod, not removing my gaze from the box. Newt sighs softly and leaves me alone.

I leave the tenant and sit amongst the boys. Aislinn is resting in a tent for a bit and I don't disturb her.

"So what now?" Frypan asks, downcast.

It looks like we are never destined for happiness.

"Well, we pick up what is left of us," Vince sighs. " Stick to the plan. You kids better get going to the place you were planning to. And for us?" he dejectedly looks at his destroyed camp and the piling bodies of his group, "we need to start over."
