"Well, I'm gonna head to bed, guys," I tell everyone as I get up off the couch and make my way to the bedroom I have taken over after the move to the island house.
"Are you sure you're ok?" Jordan asks.
"Yeah, I'm fine," I smile at him, which makes my heart speed up.
I broke up with my boyfriend today after a serious argument that turned violent. The guys, specifically Jordan, stood up and defended me. He even took a hit for me. Now I feel bad every time I look at his face and see the red mark of my ex's hand on his cheek.
"Have a goodnight, everybody."
A smattering of good nights follow me as I walk up the stairs toward my room. I change into my pajamas and climb into bed. I pull the covers up, and just lay there, trying to fall asleep. I hear the guys coming up the stairs after what feels like days, and when I look at my bedside clock, it reads an hour after I tried to sleep. After many tosses and turns, and several infuriating near-sleep experiences, I finally drift off to that sweet blackness also known as sleep.
My feet are pounding on the concrete floor, the dark walls seemingly closing in on me. The sound of my footsteps are echoing off the walls as I continue to run down the seemingly endless hallways. Though, my footfalls aren't the only ones I hear. Another set is following mine.
Something is chasing me.
When my lungs felt ready to burst, the steps behind me slowly fade away. Still, I continue to run. While running, I spot a corridor that opens into another room, and I rush inside in an attempt to escape. Inside, I see a horrifying sight.
Jordan, tied to a chair, bloody, broken, and unconscious.
I sprint to him, ignoring the pain in my lungs. When I get to him, I kneel down and try to wipe the blood from his handsome face. I hear a groan come from him, and he slowly blinks open his blue eyes.
"Baby, are you ok?" I frantically ask Jordan.
"I'm fine Baby," he replies in a gravelly voice.
"I'm so sorry you're this hurt! I can't believe I let this happen! Oh, Baby, please forgive me!"
"Shh, (Y/n), it's not your fault."
When I look up at Jordan, he looks like he wants to stroke my face in an effort to calm me down. Unfortunately he can't because his hands are tied behind his back.
I duck behind him and look at the ropes restraining his hands. The ropes are covered in blood, and his wrists are beyond rubbed raw. I try to fiddle with the ropes, hoping to free him. Then I get grabbed from behind.
I screech in surprise.
"Let her go, you creep!" Jordan yells.
"Why should I? Now I can make her watch you suffer."
The voice behind me makes my blood run cold. It's my ex.
"Leave her out of this! She didn't do anything!"
"Liar! She left me for you!"
I blink in surprise. "We aren't dating, Michael."
"Stop lying to me! You're mine, and you always will be!"
"Michael, stop this! He did nothing wrong!"
"I don't care. He stole you from me!"
He drags me over in front of Jordan and chains my wrists to the opposite wall. Then, he walks over to a table and grabs a knife.
"Don't you dare hurt her, you monster!" Jordan roars in anger.
"Oh, this isn't for her," Michael smirks darkly, before plunging the blade into Jordan's shoulder.
