Chapter 12: Wealth and Power

"Hm, just as expected..." You, Jeongyeon and Mina are having a meetup plan in the practice room.
"You saw this coming?" Jeongyeon tilts her head in confusion. She was explaining to you what the two of them had talked about.
"Pretty much," You were leaning against the mirror and jumps. "I finally understand now,"
"What do you understand?" Jeongyeon looks at you with hope.
Mina, on the other hand, was mesmerized by the huge mirror. Sitting on her knees and look at the reflection, she glanced at you.
"I understand nothing in particular!" You say in enthusiasm, striking a thumbs up pose and twinkling eyes.
Jeongyeon's eyes went pensive. Her faith in you had started to drop in an instant, seeing her so fed up with your jokes drew a small giggle from Mina, who's still on the floor next to the mirror.
"We don't have time left, do we? If I'm late to show up, Lady Nayeon will be killed by someone else's hand," Jeongyeon checked on her wrist to catch up with the time.
"I know... but strangely I'm so chill," You talk to yourself as you cross your arms.
"But... Nayeon is still so young to die... She is loved by millions of people too! I just met her today, it makes me sad that she was suffering so much," Mina frowns, tapping her finger on the cold mirror and writes in Hangul words.
"Nayeon is 1,078 years old," Jeongyeon says.
Listening to Jeongyeon's matter accordingly, you and Mina nodded in agreement but Mina was the first one to notice the odd.
"Mhm-mhm! Life is shortーWait..I know I have failed to hear that but can you say it again?"
Your duality went from joyful to serious mode and you didn't even have to hear it again since you are just awfully overwhelmed to discover the darkest secret in history.
"Nayeon is 1,078 years old," Jeongyeon speaks in the same tone naturally.
There was an intense, long pause that made you and Mina deaf while Jeongyeon shows no trouble against it until...
"Did she said 17?" You look at Mina.
"N-not really..."
"1,078 years old," Jeongyeon speaks again then another five seconds of silence entered.
"THAT'S LONG! IS SHE A GOD?! THERE'S NO WAY AN ORDINARY HUMAN WOULD LIVE THAT LONG! ARE YOU JOKING?" You wheeze.
"She was cursed as soon as she was 25. Slept for several centuries and woke up during the world war,"
"By the way, how old are you, Jeongyeon?"
"I'm 24, and for your information age doesn't matter,"
"Face reality! She will legit outlived everyone in this world!"
After that back and forth argument, Mina had stood to speak. "If that's the case... I can see why she want to end her life. But why are you telling this to us? Wasn't this supposed to be a secret between you and Nayeon?"
Jeongyeon frowns a little and glanced at you, "Lady Nayeon wouldn't mind if you knew it,"
"The reason is?"
"She had told me not a while ago... when you and her first met in the woods. Lady Nayeon was going out for air and refresh her thoughts but she encountered you during your crucial times. You were suffering, despaired, and you were anguish. Lady Nayeon had thought you and her are similar in some ways because she had been through the same. She also told me something surprising, 'I want to get closer to this person, and wrath the people who made them feel this way. I don't want them to go through the same way as I did,' Is what she said. I'll have you know that Lady Nayeon was looking out for you when you were in a coma,"
