Chapter 40: The Village's Hope
The next few hours, the four of you arrived at the Ilsun Village with the carriage and stuffs.
As though you were a celebrity, people watch you from the window and from the door, and from their working area with a bright face.
"Food! It's food!"
"Yey! We can eat delicious food again!"
"No more piece of bread!"
"I'm hungry now!"
Most chants were from the children, you gave them a warm smile and waves a hand, hoping for a response, the little boys turn and pulls their pants off to show their butts and slap it.
Kids.... you hated them, always will be.
"We'll stop here," Jeongyeon says, halting the horses who are tired after a long journey. You swore the barn was still far off ahead, but still the horses needed to get rest.
"Time to get off," Momo, who fell asleep stretch her arms up and legs then jumps out of the carriage.
At that, we made sure to deliver the groceries and foods to the kitchen workplace, which is Dahyun's and Tzuyu's job to cook food. From the moment we stepped out foot back in this village, the situation from the market seemed to have forgotten that a situation existed. But to them, it appears none of that is any worth telling Nayeon.
There was Nayeon, Tzuyu, and Jihyo from the house. Sana was nowhere to be seen in this area, neither you've seen her at the entrance.
"Y/N, you may go take a rest. We'll handle this ourselves," Jeongyeon approaches you.
"Is that so? I'll go talk to Nayeon for a while,"
"Okay, I'll call you when lunch is ready,"
With that, you prioritize to Nayeon's direction and you noticed Momo was having a bonding with her allies during her punishments while Chaeyoung was with Jihyo, having a serious conversation. You can never want to imagine how dreadful Jihyo would tell her stuffs.
"Is it true you used my form?" Jihyo asks in a low voice.
Biting her lower lip nervously, Chaeyoung nods. "Yes, only for a while,"
"Didn't I tell you not to?"
"You did... but I didn't regret it. It was tough, and thanks to your ability, I was able to save Y/N, and everyone" Chaeyoung spills.
"Hm, we're proud of you, Chaeyoung. You've fought well," Jihyo smiles and gives her a pat in the end. When Jihyo does this, everyone is honored to be able to receive such blessings.
Chaeyoung was proud of herself too.
Although, Jihyo seems to be troubled about something. A pang of worries is written over her face.
Is there a hope?
You meet Nayeon in the old cabin. The place where she had given you the Crimson Light blessings, which you haven't tried it out yet.
"Welcome back~" Nayeon smiles widely.
"Yo," You walk in as you please.
"Tough journey, eh? How do you feel?"
"I've ran out of energy," You tell.
"Hehe, good work~! You fought well," Nayeon chuckles and crosses her legs. "So, what do you need from me?"
"Erm... I'm not sure if I can tell you this... but I have to, right?" You say with uncertainty.
"You can tell me anything, don't be shy~" She welcomes you a big smile and that explains why Nayeon is easy to hang around with.
