Chapter 23: Beginning of Joy

"....*sob*.... *sniff*.... *wheeze* .... *sob*..."
"Poor little girl..."
"Talking back to her parents... She's naughty,"
"Eugh.. I don't want to adopt that kid,"
"Is that the little girl that does nothing but draws?"
"She kinda deserves being abused,"
Chaeyoung has bad childhood memories she doesn't want to recall. On the day she was born, Chaeyoung was already a gifted painter.
But her parents aren't happy because they wanted a more intelligent and better child.
When Chaeyoung was 7 years old, she shut-in in her room and refuses to go to school. She drew 10 pieces of paper a day and pins them over the wall as her decoration.
But every time her parents walked in, they would tear it off and throw it.
"YOU SHOULD GO TO SCHOOL AND BECOME A DOCTOR! LOOK AT YOUR CLASSMATES! THEY HAVE HIGH GRADES. WHAT ABOUT YOU?"
"I WANT TO DRAW! I WANT TO KEEP DRAWING I LOVE DRAWING! WHO CARES ABOUT SCHOOL!" Small Chaeyoung talks back.
"SHUT UP!!" Her father jabs her and she falls.
"WE DON'T NEED A CHILD THAT DOESN'T CONTRIBUTE TO OUR FAMILY!"
But little did her parents know, or even if they know it, Chaeyoung always includes her family in her drawing, but they don't want to appreciate it because it's not what the parents want her to be.
Being forced by her parents, Chaeyoung had no choice but to attend elementary schools.
But she was bullied because of her painting.
"Eeww! What is that?!"
"Looks like a booger!"
"Haha! You're so dirty! Take a bath!"
"I have a water bottle! Or you prefer a bucket of water?"
Chaeyoung didn't care. All she cares about is her hobby of painting. Even during class hours, she would still draw in class and teachers would scold her, and others will understand her, or ignore her.
One time, in dismissal. Chaeyoung would be left behind to continue her drawing alone in her seat.
That's when she met Jeongyeon, who appears to be in the same school as her but she is a senior.
She found Chaeyoung alone when walking in the hallway and saw her through the window.
"This is what the bullies look like when they are bullied... They're bored, huh? This one is when the teacher is discussing while I'm the only student who didn't listen. Gosh, I look so stand out and pathetic,"
Chaeyoung was mumbling to herself.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Jeongyeon talks.
Thus, the two of them met, which lead Chaeyoung to meet Nayeon.
But, that night.......
"CHAEYOUNG!"
"CHAEYOUNG HELP US!"
