Chapter 47: The Meaning Behind her Smile
......
Nayeon was purely the definition of skeptical.
In fact, you thought it would be easy to tell her if you were just as whole as your feelings. However, what you've conveyed to Nayeon had been limited to a certain circumstances.
She would've comprehend your situation and out of all people, you believed she's someone you can trust at heart.
And with an invigorated gaze, the village was already having their feast once the girls from the Incheon Market had arrived. This day, you never seemed to imagine you'd witnessed a scene before the catastrophe could happen.
You were certain that food was the cause of a massacre attack.
Unsure what to do, fear have consumed your body once again and you shivered at the chill.
"Not eating?" It was Nayeon, who dragged your self-declared negative energy out of you.
Looking at Nayeon, you realized you were just in a middle of holding a plate and a spoon in your hand. "Well.. I'mー"
"Don't worry, there's nothing wrong," Nayeon confronts and took a mouthful bite of spoon.
The image of predicting what would happen to the village entered your brain, which has caused you to lose an appetite but if Nayeon said nothing's wrong, then nothing's wrong.
"I-I know but it just feels.. downright strange," You mumble lowly.
At the hint, Nayeon tilted her head and looks at you in the face one more time. She controls your hand, scooping an amount of food into the spoon and voluntarily moved forward for a bite. "See? I ate your food,"
That definitely was adorable, despite her age.
"It's delicious," Nayeon chuckles like a little girl and she comes to the realization as she blinkedwith a small gasps. "Oh, an indirect kiss?"
Maybe all this time, you had been following and had cooperated Nayeon from the start, you can't help but thought everything was already odd since the beginning.
What's with the Rewind?
Why were you returned every single time she died? Or a certain person died for a ridiculous reason?
The answers you had yearned on hasn't been found yet.
"Nayeon, about the Crimson Light..." You take a full bite of your spoon, not caring if it was an indirect kiss for as long as she confirmed it there was no threat of anything in the sort.
"You're interested, I see..." She smiles.
"I'm curious how powerful this is, and how I could handle it like a worthy shifter," You tell.
"Well, in a simpler way to explain, you can cast and burned this village on fire," She says.
"Why would you think I'd do that?"
"I know, right? It's not that easy to use Crimson Light, even the Jackson Cult can't do it. I'm glad I'm no longer carrying it with me,"
"Wait... since I have the Crimson Light. Does it mean you can't use it anymore?" You asks.
"Precisely," Nayeon shrugs on purpose. "I'm so generous for giving it to you and I'm free,"
At that, you thumped your own chest and you bowed down to Nayeon. "Please tell me more about the Crimson Light. I want to be strong,"
