Chapter 17: Chaengcasso
........
Son Chaeyoung is a very talented artists, no arts that are trash, all masterpiece. No matter what she draws in the paper, even if she did it in the most inappropriate way to make it ugly it turns out beautiful.
She once said that she was scared of her own talent, and wants to abandon it.
The fans, however, did not understood the artist's lores and what was behind her talent.
"I believe you know me, Y/N but I still have to introduce myself. I'm Chaeyoung," She offers a handshake.
I can't believe she's right in front of me and she even knows my name. My legs are shakey, and my eyes wavers nervously.
"I-I'm Ban Y/N," I grab her hand, hoping she won't mind how cold and sweaty my hand is.
Crap, I don't have the nerve to look at her. I'm so pathetically ugly to even make eye contact with her.
"So, she needs our help," Mina tells.
"Help? About what?"
"Please. This will considered as one of the last art I'm going to work on. I need to see the moon, with the Spirit wolf to completely grasp an image of it. I'll give you two a reward for coming with me." Chaeyoung bowed. She is really serious about going to the dangerous place that could cost her life.
"Spirit wolf..." You kept hearing the name for the second time from Sana a moment ago.
"Spirit wolf is the most ferocious, strongest beast amongst the wolves. It's got intelligence unlike the rest of them, and came from a human vessels. It's huge, and its furs is big. The eyes engulfed in the darkness when found. It's a dangerous beast," Mina explains.
To your surprised, you've no idea Mina can be very knowledgeable at this sort of thing.
"You looked like you've seen this wolf, Mina,"
Mina gasps softly, and looked on the ground. "I've read a book with picture on it. I've never seen it before,"
"I haven't too. Picture alone is not enough for me to copy the beast," Chaeyoung admits.
"C...copy?"
Chaeyoung wears the beret on top of her head. Her outfit looked like a cowboy dress with a holster on the waist, but it was placed by brush and a flip chart hanging on her back.
"If you had heard about Nayeon unnie being the princess from millennial years ago. I am a Shapeshifter. I can change my identity form by simply copying the figure of humans, or an animals," Chaeyoung confesses.
You and Mina were taken aback by her sudden statement. Both of you didn't know exactly how to respond back to her until you have the courage to speak.
"Shapeshifter...? You mean... you can turn to Mina, or Nayeon, something like that?"
"As much as I want to prove you, I can't do that. I need to conserve my energy to copy that spirit wolf once I've fully sketch them" Chaeyoung explains.
"I thought you're... just an ordinary human," Mina speaks in despondency, still amazed.
"Nayeon had blessed me with two things. My skills of drawing. No matter how much I've tried to sketch my pain ugly, it will turn out beautiful, even if I messily splash the pain and abstract it. Then, she gave me this power, shapeshifting others because..."
She pauses. You and Mina were listening but her mouth freezes in realization.
Because? Is there a reason why Nayeon lend her the shapeshifting ability? If so, I wonder what it is...?
"Let's go. Time is running. I can't let the moon walk away," Chaeyoung seemed like she isn't comfortable talking about her past.
She almost spat what you and Mina needed, and deserve to know but she held her tongue.
You and Mina nod as she follows her.
"Wait, Mina," You call her.
"Hm?" Mina looks at you prettily.
"We're friends... right?"
"Yes, what's wrong?" She fully face you.
"You'd hate it if I hide something from you, right?" Your eyes is a little bit dry.
"We shouldn't keep secrets. We have talked about this, right?" Her finger taps your lips.
"Then..." You were taken aback at the feeling of her finger, touching your botton lip. As she pull away before things get awkward.
"Once this is over, will you tell me about you and Sana?" Your eyes looks serious and she gasp at your question. Mina didn't expect you to be so straightforward.
"What?"
"You know her, right? You absolutely do,"
Mina avoids your eyes and her teeth grits but didn't show it off. "Yes..." She speaks lowly.
"Can you tell me? Why are you so afraid ofー"
"You said later," Mina cuts you off and turns to walk.
You hope she wasn't mad at you but she's not. Something was hitting her off in the chest that made her feel uneasy. Part of her wants to get ready, and she doesn't want to face the past that she had with Sana.
Still, you are so curious. Are they enemies?
