Sound of the Wind | Chapter 10

Lumine stretched her arms behind her head as she sat up. The sun was rather blinding when it was shining right in your face.

She looked at Paimon to see she was still sleeping peacefully. Lumine smiled as she got up and had some eggs.

"What is that?"

Lumine jumped as she quickly turned around. She sighed as Xiao pulled out a chair beside her.

"I forgot you were here for a second! These are Teyvat fried eggs! You should try some, they're delicious." Lumine held out a piece for him on her fork and pushed it towards him.

Xiao looked at it before slowly leaning forward and eating the egg.

"It's good, for human food. I don't think I can eat much though." Xiao sighed while leaning in the chair.

"Oh by the way, how are your wounds?" Lumine seriously asked. She was looking at him worried.

Xiao pulled down his sleeve slowly and looked up at her. "They're fine. Nothing I can't deal with."

Lumine stared at him for a moments before slamming her fork down. "Let's hangout today! You've done so much and you deserve a day off!" She quietly yelled.

Xiao looked at her in surprise.

"What are you talking about? Even if we 'hung out' what about your little protector over there?" Xiao asked while looking at looking towards where Paimon was.

"I can leave her a note! Now let's go!" Lumine quickly wrote a short note.

"There we are!" Lumine giggled before pulling Xiao along with her.

Lumine held onto Xiao's arm as she pulling him to a large tree on a cliff. She gently leaned against the tree as she pat the spot next to her.

Xiao stared for a moment before sitting beside the girl.

"You're pretty lucky to see these king a views everyday! It's all so beautiful." Lumine smiled while letting a leaf blow away in the wind.

Xiao stared at the gorgeous view before sighing, "Only the ones that are smart or strong are able to see these views. People as low as demons will never see the beauty of this world."

Xiao was gently messing with the grass when his mind instantly clicked to her face, Lumine's face. He slightly blushed as he looked away.

He could sense that her eyes were on him.

"I must admit you're right, but do you think that people with always look the other way?" Lumine asked while slightly leaning forward.

"I don't... I've met a few people who made me believe that." He felt a sudden weight lift off of his shoulders as he leaned back into the tree.

He closed his eyes as he enjoyed the warmth of the sun and the sound of the wind.

He heard Lumine lean back as she slightly laughed.

Now there was only comfortable silence, beside the sound the wind.
