"I don't remember the last time I helped a mortal. If I ever did." Xiao mumbled to himself as he looked at the flower in his hand.

He hesitantly picked off the petals one by one, tossing them to the wind.

He leaned his the statue behind him as he threw the stem into the wind as well.

He rested his head on his fist as he couldn't stop thinking of the very girl he saved.

The look she had in her eyes before he desperately grabbed her, scared of her getting hurt more than she was. He's seen that look to many times.

All those times being his friends, the victims he killed, unimportant mortals. Why did he care so much about that look?

Like she accepted her death. She wouldn't try to save herself even if she had the strength to do so.

"This human is strange, yet also.. lovable I suppose." Xiao sighed as he felt blush rise to his cheeks.

"So the adeptus has finally found the one he cherishes." A voice, a familiar one.

Xiao quickly stood up and looked at the person.

"Morax." Xiao sighed as he stared up at him.

Zhongli put his hand on the adeptus's head.

Xiao closed his eyes, ready for whatever punishment awaited him. He fell in love while he was suppose to protect Teyvat.

"I'm happy for you." Zhongli smiled as he removed his hand. Xiao's eyes widened as he looked up at him again.

"She is strong, so do not become to protective. Help her if she needs it." He suddenly disappeared as fast as he came.

Xiao covered his mouth as he realized.

He had fallen for a mortal. A different kind of mortal.
