Paimon quickly flew threw the doors at the inn. Her eyes quickly landed on Verr Goldet at the front desk.

"Verr Goldet!" She quickly flew over to her.

"Oh good evening Paimon! Where's Lumine?" Verr Goldet asked while setting down a paper she was holding.

"Paimon needs help! Lumine fell down a whole near some bamboo, and the walls are to slick to climb out! Now it's raining too!" Paimon was out of breathe from flying all the way and the rain making her colder.

"Near bamboo?" A familiar voice questioned the fairy.

Paimon yelped from the scare but quickly calmed down.

"Xiao! Don't scare Paimon like that when Paimon is in a big hurry!" She put her hands on her hips.

"But yes. Lumine fell down a hole, most likely a trap, by some bamboo. The bamboo is also near the ocean." Paimon sighed while looking at both Verr Goldet and Xiao.

"Alright, I'll help her." Xiao sighed before quickly disappearing into the air.

"Paimon why don't you stay here and warm up. I'll have the chef make you a snack. Take this blanket for now." Verr Goldet gently handed Paimon a blanket.

Xiao felt cold rain drops hit his skin the second the particles disappeared.

He immediately began looking for the hole Paimon had informed him of.

'Why am I even looking for her? She's just a mere human.' Xiao thought.

He eventually went off the path and into the forest of bamboo. The bamboo wasn't to close in some places so they were perfect places for traps.

He eventually began to the the hole.

His pace quickened once he saw it. Why was his pace quickening?

He hastily looked inside to see her. The one and only person he's been looking for.

She was curled into a ball. She seemed to be cold and unconscious.

"Lumine." He called out her name. She immediately woke up and looked above her.

"Xiao!" She quickly stood up and reached up to him. He sighed in relief as he reached down to her as well.

Their fingertips barely brushed against each other. He tried to hold onto a heavy rock and get lower.

"Try jumping. I can't get my arm any lower or I'll fall in with you. I doubt it's big enough for two people. I'll catch you." Lumine nodded and made sure Xiao was ready for the sudden weight of his arm.

She jumped. Xiao immediately grabbed her wrist and began pulling her up as soon as she was high enough.

Lumine grabbed onto the edge of the hole and pulled herself up as best as she could.

If she was being honest, it felt like there were heaters on her heart the second she touched his hand. She felt her cheeks warm up as soon as she fell onto the grass.

She was tired, very tired. Not only that but she was cold and sore from being stuck in a ball form.

She pushed her body off of the ground as she stood up. A heavy weight was being put on her shoulders as she sighed.

"Thank you again, Xiao!" Lumine gave him a quick smile.

Xiao sighed. He gently took hold of her chin so he could look at her face. "Your cheeks are red. Are you sick again?" Xiao let go of her chin and felt her fingertips.

"I feel fine I'm just really cold." Lumine chuckled at the last part before shivering.

Xiao looked at her while holding onto her shoulder. Soon particles formed around them for a moment.

Once they disappeared they were in her room.

"Take a shower to get warm. It'd be bad if you caught a cold again." Xiao was turned away from her. He soon disappeared into particles like always.

Lumine smiled. Her heart and cheeks were warmer than the rest of her body.
