Y/N POV

Morris grabs my hand in his and leads me through a crowd of people all dressed in expensive clothing.

Morris himself is wearing a navy suit and fits right in with the crowd. And with my gown I think I do too. Just as we make our way through the doors to the Pulitzer building we are greeting by Mr.Wiesel and a women who I assume is his wife or date.

"Oscar, Jennavive" he smiles and gives each of them a hug.

Next he turns his attention to Morris and I. "Morris an-" he stops for a second a looks me up and down. "Sweet?" He asked astonished. To that I nodded.

"Uh h-hi" Wiesel says I give Morris an unsure look but he leads me to where they are serving wine. He passes me a cup which I happily take. I've only ever had cheap whisky so this is definitely a change. But don't get me wrong a very good change.

"Is this your first time having wine?" He asks

"Yeah all the boys drink whiskey" I respond

He nods then grabs my hand again we walk smiles sky through the crowd before we hear a "Morris Delancey" from behind us. We both turn and see a man about the same height as Morris and probably in his mid 20s.

"Gregory" Morris nods "Nice to see you" Morris says.

"Likewise" Gergory says. "Who's the pretty lady?" He asks.

"This is Y/N my girlfriend" Morris says sounding a bit pissed off.

I was a bit shocked he said girlfriend but I think it was just to get this Gergory man away from us.

"How did you land her, shes a beauty and you're, not" Gergory chuckles. "What do you say sweetheart the two of us get out of here and have some fun" he says and smiles smugly.

"Greg go away" Morris sneered.

"Not until I have this gem on my arm" Gergory says.

Before anyone else says anything Morris is advancing at him but I see this before he does anything and grab his arm. He turns to me with fire in his eyes and then kisses me infront of Gregory. He takes the anger he had at Greg out on my mouth but I didn't even realize I was kissing back. We hear an agrey huff and Greg walks away. Morris detaches his lips from mine and whispers a bit sheepishly in my ear "sorry I'm not sure what came over me" he says and I nod.

Just then the band starts and beautiful music fills my ears.

"Let's dance" I say and guide him to the dance floor. I put my arms around his neck and his go around my waist as we start to spin and glide to the music.

Morris POV

We were waking through the gigantic Pulitzer building before a voice from behind caught my attention. Unfortunately I knew that voice anywhere.

Gregory Hangul

I tangled with him a few years back at the refuge. He was the one who tought Oscar and I all of our fighting skills and started paying us to beat up kids in the refuge. At first we didn't really understand why we were beating them up but everyone said that the kids in there were dangerous criminals.

When Oscar and I got a bit older we realized that those kids were innocent. We tried telling Gregory that we didn't want to beat on those kids anymore but instead of him being understanding he beat us continuously until we complied with him.

Eventually Uncle Wiesel gave us a job at the world handing out and counting the papes. We were so thankful but then he started to pay us to beat up the newsies who stepped out of line. We knew we didn't have a choice for fear of seeing Gregory again so we did whatever we needed to.

"Gregory Nice to see you" I say through gritted teeth.

"Likewise, who's the pretty lady?" He asks refuring to Y/N. I was so pissed he was hitting on her so I took it a step further.

"This is Y/N my Girlfriend" I said and then he scoffed.

He said some other shit but I was too pissed to even hear the words come out of his mouth. "Greg go away" i sneered at him. He talked some more about wanting to have Y/N so I did the only logical thing.

I kissed her.

I kissed her expecting to be pushed away but she was kissing back. I start using all the anger I had about Greg and taking it out on her mouth. I'm not sure how long we were like that but eventually I heard an angry huff and there was no more Gregory.

Once I realized I kissed her without asking if she was comfortable with that especially considering what happend in the alley. I apologized to her in her ear.

"Let's Dance" she said and pulled me to the dance floor. The music filled my ears and she put her arms around my neck and i snaked mine around he waist. She started to sway to the beat and she looked beautiful. I spinned her then dipped her and she looked beautiful and happy. There was an amazing smile plastered on her face.

We continued dancing until the music stopped and Mr. Pulitzer stepped up to a voice enhancer (microphone, idk when they were invented so we're just gonna pretend they existed then)

He started to give a speech and I zoned out for a bit while staring at Y/N admiring her beauty.
