RACES POV

I followed Morris by a safe distance. The first place he went was a dress shop and came out with what I'm guessing was a tie.

Next he made his way to "Azar Flowers" and went inside. I watched him through the window. He poked around at many of the bundles. He stopped and smelled some yellow roses then made his way to the daises and wild flowers. He picked up a bouquet of tulips in pink and red and sniffed it. He put it back before eventually deciding on a bouquet of lavender and wild flowers.

He made his way up to the shop clerk. A middle aged Lebanese man with a gold watch. Morris made small talk and bought the flowers. For Y/N? I wondered.

Finally he was making his way to a bakery but this is where I had enough and grabbed him into an alley.

"What the hell?!" Morris turned to see me and stopped, looked me up and down then the only words out of his mouth were "Race" and he nodded.

We stood there staring at each other for a moment because I don't think either of us knew what to do. Finally Morris broke the ice "So what do you want Race" he said a bit exasperated.

"I- I want to know whats going on with you and Y/N" I said.

"Oh" was all Morris let out. "Uh well I promised her I wouldn't say anything so you really just need to talk to her."

This is where I absolutely lost it. He was being neutral with me and all I wanted to do was soak him.  I pushed him up against the wall and said "YOU I WANT YOU TO START TALKING" you could say this is where I messed up because he threw the flowers and smacked me in the eye before throwing me off him and pinning me back against the wall.

"WELL THAT ISN'T FOR ME TO SAY. YOU'RE ONE OF HER BEST FRIENDS SO I'M GONNA PUT UP WITH YOU BUT I CARE ABOUT HER MORE THAN YOU COULD EVER KNOW" He yelled with anger seeping out of him.

"YEAH RIGHT YOU'RE A DELANCY YOU ONLY CARE ABOUT YOURSELF" I screamed back at him. Then I hit him square in the jaw.

He spits out the blood onto my shoes and said with venom lacing his words "I'm not fighting with you no more. I care about Y/N with my life and there is no need for me to prove that to you. GO HOME RACE"

He picked up the flowers and walked out the alley without another word.

Y/N POV

I saw Morris pressing Race up against the wall of the alley. Morris had more self-control than I ever imagined. Race however did not.

Morris picks up a bouquet of flowers and stops dead in his tracks when he sees me. "Y/N I- I'm" he stops himself and rushes over to me picking me up in a hug. He stuffs his head into my shoulders and whispers "I'm so sorry Y/N I didn't mean to beat on your friend, I'm not really sure what happened." he says.

We gaze at each other and then he kisses me. It was so magical I completely forgot about Race.

"WHAT THE HELL Y/N YOU'RE DATING HIM? WHAT? WHY? HOW? I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU" He screams.

"WAIT RACE CAN WE JUST TALK ABOUT THIS?" I yell after him.

"There's nothing to talk about Y/N" he sneers then walks out of the alley.

I turn back to Morris not knowing what to expect but he just engulfs me in a hug. I melt into it and gracefully accept. He hands me the flowers "These are for you, I didn't mean to ruin them it's jus-" I stopped him. "They gorgeous Morris." He gives me a tender smile which I return and we start to walk to the lodge.

"So what are you going to do about Race? I can always help if you need it" Morris says.

"I don't need you to beat him up" I laugh.

"I just have no idea what I'm gonna say to him. It's not like he knows what is best for me. He isn't my brother." I say slightly annoyed with Race.

"Hey hey hey just don't think about it right now. Are you all done selling?" he asks.

"I have two more papes" I respond. Then he rips the papers out of my hands and starts pestering people on the street.

"Hello, sir care for a fine and frugal paper? You can read all about the stock market crash on page 3. You can even get the phone number of a live-in nurse if you or anyone you know is in need. OH- and-"

"ILL TAKE ONE, LEAVE ME ALONE" the man yells and Morris looks back at me with a triumphant grin. He does this to one more unlucky businessman and hands me the two pennies.

"For you Madame," Morris says as his arm goes around my shoulders and we start our walk to the lodge.

"Thank you, kind sir" I laugh as I pocket the two pennies.

Within about 10 minutes we reach a block away from the lodge. I turn and plant a kiss on his lips "see you at eight o'clock" I whisper in his ears. He turns a bit red and says "Not if I see you first" and briskly walks away.
