"No because you could've at LEAST defended me" Demi yelled from the other room. I followed her voice to the bathroom where she was looking for a hair brush.
"The whole thing caught me off guard and everything was happening so fast-"
"Yeah it caught me off guard too, but you didn't see that stopping me from defending my girlfriend our relationship!"
"What did you want me to say?" I asked, now raising my voice
"Anything jade. You could've said ANYTHING. But no you just stood there while she said that shit to me, and about us. You looked at her when she said that like you had just realized she was right." Demi said as she brushed her hair, and slammed the brush down on the counter. She then stormed out of the bathroom, moving past me as I was standing in the door way and made our way back to our room.
"I've been as civil as I can with that woman. I tried on multiple occasions to not lose my shit on her when she disrespected me, or us. One of the times being in our own house! And each time you just kinda let it go. You NEVER put your foot down. You let it all happen!" She yelled.
I furrowed my eyes brows and walked more into the room getting closer to the older woman.
"What was I supposed to do Demetria?! I WORK with her. She's in the movie whether you and I like it or not!" I said. Demi let out a laugh and grabbed her purse.
"News flash jade! Actors work with other actors they hate ALL the time. It's part of the job! Not every set you'll be on will have a loving family environment. But no matter whether it's a work setting or normal life, you shouldn't let someone shit on and disrespect a relationship you claim so strongly to be committed to." She said and finished putting everything in her purse, and once again pushed past me and was now making her way down the stairs.
"Where are you going?" I yelled following her down.
"I'm going out. I need to clear my head."
"Demi stop let's just talk about this-" I started but she cut me off.
"No, there's nothing to talk about right now. And I'll be honest, I really don't want to talk to you at this moment. I'll be back later." She said, and with that, was out the door.
I felt my knees go weak, and my heart was in my stomach. I slowly dropped down and sat on the stairs and put my head in my hands and whispered to my self.
"What did i do?"
A few weeks earlier.
"Hey babe! I'm finishing up on set and then I'll be home." I told Demi on the phone.
"I'll come pick you up baby, we can go to dinner. I'll text you when I'm there." She said. I smiled at the date plan, and nodded. "Okay, I love you."
"I love you too"
After shooting another scene, I got my stuff from my dressing room, and made my way out to the parking lot. While I was waiting I heard a voice.
"Hey, great scene today." Alex said. I smile and nodded. "Yeah it was, you did great." I told her.
"Hey so I was thinking, a few of us are going to the bar tomorrow, if you'd want to come and grab a couple of drinks? We've all just had a long week of shooting so I figured this could be a good way to end the week."
I thought about it for a minute, and considered how it might make Demi feel.
"I'm not sure at the moment, but I'll definitely let you know." I smiled at her. Alex didn't say anything, she just nodded and grabbed my phone from my hands.
