"Wow." Demi breathed out as we both collapsed on the bed.
"That was the best we've ever had i think." She said, moving the hair out of her face. I nodded in agreement. "Yeah. Yeah I agree."
"Maybe we should go two months without seeing each other more often."
We looked at each other after she said that and almost on cue, burst out in laughter.
"Yeah absolutely not." I said
"Yeah i can't do that again." She said and leaned over to plant a soft kiss on my lips.
She then cuddled up to me, and for the first time in over two months, I felt at bliss. I put on our TV show, and held her in my arms as we slowly drifted off to sleep.
-
Waking up the next morning, I noticed Demi wasn't beside me. Confused, I sat up and made my way to the kitchen, but stopping when I heard Demi speaking.
"No. We're not talking about this. There's nothing to talk about. No, that's not true at all. You can't do that to me. God, just leave me alone." And then I heard her hang up the phone.
I slowly made my way by the older woman, scared of startling her.
"Baby? Is everything okay?" I asked softly. Demi jumped at the sound of my voice and put her hand on her chest.
"Jesus christ you scared me." She laughed. "Um, yeah. Just got into an argument with one of my backup singers during tour and they can't seem to let it go. It's nothing." She said with a convincing smile.
The one thing that I learned about Demi while we've been together, is that if she doesn't want to talk about it, don't push it.
I nodded my head and sat down on the stool, watching Demi make her way to the stove. "Want breakfast?" She asked and I nodded, which made Demi smile. "Good"
After a few minutes of comfortable silence, I spoke up.
"So, thanksgiving is the end of this month, what do you want to do?"
Demi stopped for a moment to think, and then shrugged her shoulders.
"Why don't we have it here? My family, you fly out your dad and Amanda, and they can stay in the guest rooms." She said.
I smiled at the idea, and walked over to my girlfriend who was still in the process of making pancakes.
"Really? You wanna do that?" I asked excitedly. Demi nodded her head and had a soft smile on her face.
"Yeah. I mean, i want our families to feel like family with each other."
I gently turned the older woman's head and kissed her. "Okay. I really like that."
"Can you believe in like a week and a half it'll mark 6 months of us being together?" Demi asked. I smiled as I wrapped my arms around her, and gently kissed the back of her shoulder.
"Yeah i know. I can't believe we made it official literally 10 minutes before my birthday." I chucked. Demi laughed and turned around and placed a few pancakes on a plate for me and her.
"I know. And the fact that I found out on your birthday that it was your birthday was a little rude on your part."
"What do you mean??" I laughed.
"You never told me your birthday!"
"You never asked!"
"I- that's not the point. The POINT is, is that the last six months have been the best six months of my life and I don't want to change it for the world." She said, kissing me once more.
