Chapter Two|Risso's

"Wow, you were amazing out there," he grinned, "you've some skills on the road don't ya?"

"Oh dude, you still don't know her, when you're at an actual race." Braxton comments and everyone starts glaring at him, except Kayden and his friend, "shit." Braxton murmurs.

"um... race? What race?"

Crap!

"Nothing nothing, it's just, uh..." Theo tries covering it but fails miserably.

"You guys can trust me, if that's what you are hesitating upon." he said in a low voice.

I sigh and whisper, "it's a streetcar race in which me and Theo participate, you would be knowing streetcar races are mostly illegal. So I hope I can trust him." I point at his friend, now please tell me his name, I hate calling him, your friend.

"Who? Carter? Yeah obviously." Kayden says, shaking his head, everyone glances at him who starts blushing.

"Aw, he is cute!" Cris chirps, I raise an eyebrow at Cris. The girl who is like, 'only hot boys are made for me.' is calling a guy cute... interesting.

I still stare at Cris who slams her hand on my cheek, making me look forward instead of her, I scoff and let it go, for now.

Astri chuckles and turns towards her boyfriend, "babe, I guess you are forgetting something."

"Oh right thanks baby." Theo kisses her cheek and turns towards me, "we have this race on Friday evening, on the usual spot. After that, there is this after race party at some beach. So I am guessing everyone would come, including Kayden and Carter."

I start grinning followed by Criss, Kayden and Braxton.

"I don't think I would be able to join you guys." Carter says, smiling sheepishly.

Kayden starts speaking but Cris cuts him, "oh come! Please, for me?"

She starts making puppy eyes to which, obviously, Carter gives in. Astri and I raise eyebrows at each other by Criss' behaviour.

We all continue chattering about stuff where Kayden tells stuff about his life and also learns that I am his new neighbour, who he needs to be careful about at night as we blast music on full volume which is audible even outside our adobe, on which he tells about his younger brother- Declan who loves listening to music at full volume unlike him.

After the bell rings we all separate ways for our lecture, except for Cris and I.

When the last lecture rolls in, which is History, I sit with Kayden since my bench partner is absent.

After History, I grab my dodge bag and head towards the changing/locker room for girls. I step into the changing room, removing my clothes then changing into my workout outfit and sports shoes, then tie my hair in a bun and step out.

After a freaking hour of practice, I sit inside my driver's seat, still in my workout outfit. Who would want to change after a goddamn practice?

I relax while listening to music when my phone vibrates, I pick up to see Chel's message. Yes, the ten year old girl has a phone, also an iPhone.

Chel:
Skyl pls bring pizza for me from Risso's 🥺

Me:
Fine. The things I do for u!

Chel:
Thx sis. Hehe😁

I toss my phone on the seat and head towards Risso's. Risso's is a famous cheap restaurant in our town. It has been situated in our town since ages. Though it's cheap, our family loves its Italian dishes, it's mouthwatering!
