Chapter Six| The day of the race (part 2)

"Best of lucky sweetie! And be safe!" My parents tell me just before I was gonna open the back door.

"Thank you, I love you guys!" After hearing the same, I walk towards my garage when I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket. I fish it out to see a notification from Instagram after opening it I squeal when I noticed Kayden's Instagram story. I do a mini dance but stop when I hear someone laughing.

I look around to find no one in the garage, 'look at your phone Skylar.' I hear Kayden's voice, I lift my phone & bring it in front of my face to find his smiling face on my phone's screen. 'I think you called me by mistake.' He says.

I grit my teeth & look down, "yeah maybe."

'You are looking awesome & also like a badass girl. Can't wait to see you physically.' He winks at me, I feel my cheeks heating up, "Uh thanks. Now I gotta go. I will see you there."

'Yeah even I am just starting.'

"See ya!" He nods and cuts the call. I sigh and slip into the driver's seat then play 16 shots by Steffon Don.

After 30 minutes of driving I reach the outskirts of the town where the race is being held. People part away without me honking. They stare, like always with a grin. After parking my car near a Porsche, I get out and immediately greeted by my gang except Theo who is obviously with his racer friends. I don't have much if racer friends since I'm a girl & not to be bragging- I win majority of the race.

"Skylar!" Cris calls who is wearing a Denim shorts & long cardigan which is showing her black bralette which is also showing enough cleavage to attract a guy.

"All ready?" Astri asks.

"yep, just need to go & register. Stay here & look out ok?" I ask my friends, they nod then I walk away.

"Skylar!" I turn around upon hearing my voice to find Kayden jogging up to me, my heart skipping a beat. Holy shit.

"Let's go together?" He asks, I nod and resume. After a minute I feel a hand sliding though mine, I look down to find Kayden intertwining his fingers with mine. I look up at him so who looking forward but gulping hard because I notice his Adam's apple bobbing up & down.

Why is he so cute & hot at the same time?

We walk with our fingers intertwined together till we reach the centre where I fill the form & swipe my card to pay for registration, "Long time no see my little girl." I hear someone say. Kayden & I turn around to find Axel & his lackeys behind him.

"since when did I become your little girl Axel?" I ask scanning his gang when I notice a familiar face staring at me astonishingly, Joshua!

What the hell is he doing here? That too with Axel?

"Ever since I've beaten you in the race." He grins at me, I scoff, "that was the only time asshole. Do I need to remind how many times I've beaten you already?" I stare at him in the eye, Kayden chuckles besides me, "oh I see. You've found one more to roam behind you like a lost puppy."

"At least she doesn't have a whole gang of 'em." Kayden fires back, "oh I see so this one knows how to talk."

"I speak for myself since she doesn't need it."

Whoa! He is good...

"What 'bout a race, you & me after the main one?" Axel challenges Kayden, before Kayden could accept- which I know he would.

I grab his arm & walk away, "aw I see the weakling is scared!" Axel comments.

Kayden was ready to fire back but I grab his arm & pull him away, "why are you dragging me away. Lemme accept it!"
