6 - but I loved you

Lee Seokmin was nice, polite, and was always trying his best. But it was not enough. His school results were a mess. He was struggling with a lot of subjects no matter how hard he tried. The teachers were always trying to help him but nothing seemed to work. He was not focused on class. Paying attention to Hong Jisoo, the perfect student sitting in the front of every class, instead of his teachers. He liked him a lot but everytime he tried talking to him, he always made a fool of himself. The only subject where he was successful was art class. His drawings always received compliments from his classmates and the teacher.

It was in art class that he discovered that Hong Jisoo stared at him a lot. He was surprised one day to meet his eyes while he was painting. Jisoo blushed furiously before turning away. It was the first time he catched him. And now he always catches him staring in the hallways, in the cafeteria, in sport class which was the class where Jisoo was struggling the most, in history class which happens to be Jisoo's favorite class. It was like everywhere Seokmin was going, Jisoo was watching.

But Jisoo was really shy and didn't talk to a lot of people except to Jeonghan and Seungcheol, his childhood best friends. It was obvious for the two that their friend had feelings for Lee Seokmin but was too shy to do anything about it. It was really funny to see him turning red every time the other just looked his way. But it was also really entertaining to see the two interacting, everytime their eyes met Seokmin would just smile and wave at Jisoo who would turn his back and blush three shades darker than usual. It was really cute to see the way Seokmin always tried to start a conversation with Jisoo but failed because the teacher entered the room or his friend interrupted him. It was obvious to Jeonghan and Seungcheol that Lee Seokmin liked their best friend back.

One day Seokmin was studying at the library. And by studying at the library I mean trying to study while watching Jisoo deeply immersed in the book he was reading. Seokmin was surprised to have his view interrupted by Seungcheol and Jeonghan, his crush's best friends.

"Are you gonna make a move on him ?"

"What ?"

Seokmin was really confused. Why were those two here talking to him about making a move on someone ? Were they talking about Jisoo ? Was he that obvious ?

"Cheol ! I told you not to start like that. I'm sorry about him. Let me begin this again. Hi, we are Jisoo's friends and we would like to know if you like our best friend ?"

"Yours was not better."

"Wait what are you two talking about ?"

"You like Jisoo don't you ? And don't try to lie to us."

"Yes, I do. Is that a problem ?"

"Not at all. We think you should confess."

"You want me to confess ? No way, he doesn't even like me back."

"You don't know that. Think about it okay ? No pressure."

And with this sentence the two walked away.

The sentence keeps replaying in Seokmin's mind, in class, on the bus, at home, everywhere. We think you should confess. Maybe he should but how scary was that. He was so scared of rejection. He made up his mind on Friday, he would confess and if he was rejected, he would have all weekend to put himself back together.

When he arrived at school that Friday morning he saw Jisoo dressed up in his cutest white sweatshirt. This boy would be the end of him. He walked straight to him.
