27 - upset

Hello ;) today's oneshot is based on an idea of CaratTopia I hope you'll like it and that it's up to your expectations.

"No, I haven't seen him yet. Why ?"

"Oh Seokmin, you're in for a treat."

"Why ? What's going on ?"

"He's upset. One of his partners for the final team project left and he now has like twice the work he was supposed to get done in the first place. The other team members blamed him for it. He also said something about the ice cream shop being out of his favorite and not having enough time with you because of his 'stupid finals'."

"So it is scary upset Jisoo."

"Yes."

"Well thank you for the heads up hyung, I'm heading to his place. I hope I can get him out of his mood for a moment."

"Good luck."

Seokmin now knew that a trip to the shop was needed. He couldn't get to his lover's place without ice cream and sweets. Jisoo will need every single one of his favorite treats tonight. It was rare but sometimes when everything was getting too overwhelming the boy got into an upset mood and nobody could get him out of it. And today was one of those times. Seokmin knew that the only thing he could do was to be here for his lover and to try everything he could to make him relax. He got out of the shop with Jisoo's favorite ice cream sandwiches and those special chocolates he particularly loved.

But once he got to his lover's place, he realized he maybe underestimated the situation. When he entered Jisoo's apartment, he was on the phone speaking angrily on the verge of tears. It was one of his project partners and he was trying to defend himself. When he hung up the phone, Jisoo realized his boyfriend was standing in his living room.

"Oh hi Minnie. I did not see you come in."

"Baby, do you want to tell me what's going on ?"

"I'd rather not. I'm angry enough as it is."

"I've brought ice cream."

"Really ?"

"Yes, your favorite ice cream sandwiches."

"You truly are god sent. Let's eat on the couch."

The two sat on the couch close, but not close enough to touch each other, Seokmin not wanting to overwhelm the already sensitive boy. Jisoo opened the convenience store bag and let out a gasp.

"You got all my favorites ?"

"Well I got Jeonghan hyung on the phone and he told me you were upset. So I wanted to make you feel a little bit better."

"Just you being here makes me feel better. And I will eat those happily. Thank you so much."

"It's nothing."

"I can't believe Jeonghan snitched on me though."

"Don't get mad at him, he's just worried about you."

"I won't, it's just that I get mad so easily lately."

"Because of your final team project ?"

"Yes. It's just so long and annoying because they all hate me and blame me when something goes wrong. It's just too much."

As Jisoo was speaking, Seokmin started unboxing the ice cream sandwiches and took one out of its plastic packaging. He brought it up to his boyfriend's lips waiting for him to take a bite. He kept on feeding his boyfriend the snack as he was talking, watching his facial expressions soften as the time passed.

"Thank you for coming."

"It's nothing, do you want more food ?"

"No, I'll make some tea, wait for me."

Seokmin watched as Jisoo disappeared into his small kitchen. He heard the kettle going and went back to opening the snacks as everything seemed to go well. He was surprised to hear his boyfriend's phone ringing and him answering with a really tiny "hello". Feeling like something was about to go wrong he stopped his fight with the chocolates and joined him in the kitchen.

And he didn't like what he saw. Jisoo was red with anger as he was trying to talk to the person on the phone. It felt like the person on the other side of the line was passing their nerves on him and Seokmin was not having it. He slowly took the phone out of Jisoo's grasp and mouthed a 'group project'. When Jisoo answered him with a nod, he took matters into his own hand.

"Hello."

"Wait. Who are you ? And where is Jisoo ?"

"That's none of your concern but you will listen carefully now."

"What ? Tell me who you are ? And give the phone back to this stupid ass !"

"Listen well here, I will stay polite unlike some others but you will stop yelling at Jisoo over the phone for something he can't even control. This group project is everyone's final so it would be nice if everyone could cooperate without blaming one person. The one who left is no one's fault and you will divide the work he was supposed to do equally between all of you. It's not fair to Jisoo to work more than all of you. And you will apologize to him. Every member of this team will apologize in person because he is worn out and the way you treat him is definitely not correct. Now have a good evening and stop annoying us."

"Wait..."

"Goodbye."

Seokmin dropped the phone on the counter and watched his boyfriend's reaction. Jisoo was too stunned to speak as the tears which were threatening to leave his eyes earlier were rolling down his cheeks. Seokmin pulled him immediately in his embrace.

"Did they make you cry ?"

"Yes but it doesn't matter. Thank you Minnie."

"They needed someone to put them back in their place. They better apologize soon."

The two kept hugging in the kitchen for a little while before Jisoo remembered the tea.

"The tea is cold now."

"It's okay."

Jisoo let out a giggle which made Seokmin smile.

"I prefer that."

"What ? Hearing me giggle ?"

"Yes. When I first got here I thought I was going to find you so angry like that time when your professor didn't approved your project and that stupid guy dropped his coffee on your class-notes of the semester. You were so mad that you ignored everyone that day and your poker face stayed for a week. It led to your name in the groupchat 'cute but scary when angry'."

"You're the one who put that name !"

"Doesn't change the fact that it's true."

"Whatever, should I remake some tea ?"

"No it's fine. Let's just have some water."

"Okay. You can let me go now."

"What if I don't want to ?"

"Then we can't go back and eat those delicious snacks you bought."

"Good point. Let's go."

Jisoo grabbed a bottle of water before following his boyfriend in the living room. And if they eat all those snacks and cuddle all night, that's for them to know because nothing can cure an upset Jisoo like his boyfriend's undivided attention.
