19 - a christmas getaway

hello, here is the second part of my christmas one-shots ! I wish you all a merry christmas and happy holidays ! Enjoy this and feedback is always appreciated :)

"Baby, let's go !"

"We don't even have to rush, why are you so stressed ?"

"Just want to hit the road as soon as possible to avoid traffic."

"You smart ass. Just let me put the rest of the gifts in the bag and we can go."

Seokmin nodded as he watched his boyfriend put the last gifts in a bag.

"You do realize that we could just come here again after our days away ?"

"I don't think we'll have the time. It's the last bag we can go now."

The two lovers locked the door of their apartment and went to the car. Jisoo put the remaining bags in the trunk and sat in the passenger seat. They had at least three hours before reaching Seokmin's family house in the mountains and he wanted to be comfortable.

"Are you ready to go ?"

"Yes. What did you plan for us to do ?"

"My mom went to the house and left groceries so we could bake. What do you think ?"

"Yes, we could make some Christmas cookies. We could also take walks in the snow. It snowed right ?"

"I believe so."

"I really love this idea of a Christmas with just the two of us. I can't wait. You're a real genius Minnie."

"Well I can't wait either. You should get some sleep, the ride to the house is kinda long."

"I know silly. I've been to the house already !"

The memories they shared at the house were so lovely. Before even dating, the two were friends for many years and so were their families. They both remember the countless nights where they talked about everything in front of the fireplace while eating cookies they made earlier in the day. It is the place they confessed their love for each other, on a random day of January, four years ago. It is also the place Seokmin took Jisoo after his dad's death to give him some peace and offer all of his support. This memory was a lot sadder than the rest but it is remembered as an act of support that means everything for the older. What memory will result from this Christmas ?

One hour into the ride and Jisoo was softly snoring in his seat. He kept on sleeping until they arrived at the house. He was woken up by Seokmin softly tapping his shoulder.

"Baby, we're here."

"Already ?"

"You slept through the whole ride so yes already."

The two stepped out of the car and took their bags out of the trunk. They entered the house holding hands.

"It's been so long since the last time we were here."

"Two years. We didn't come last year because we spent the holidays with your mom."

"You're right. I missed this place."

"Me too."

They shared a kiss and part to put everything in place. Seokmin went to the kitchen checking everything his mother bought for them and their four day getaway. Everything to cook their favorite meals was here as well as the necessities to bake their traditional Christmas cookies. He then went to light a fire in the fireplace knowing how his lover liked to read on the couch right in front of it. He discovered at the same time, the small Christmas tree put in the corner of the room. Even if his most precious gift was hidden in the drawer of the console beside the couch and in the bottom of his heart, he put another gift at the bottom of the tree. A smaller gift to give before 'the' moment.
