25 - reminiscense of the past

hello :) today's one-shot is based on an idea of CaratTopia ! I hope you will like it and that I put into words what you had in mind !
I was diagnosed with covid earlier last week, so I hope you guys have been taking care of yourselves !

The two were sitting on one of the armchairs of the hotel room they were spending the week in. This hotel was booked by their friends for their honeymoon and they were more than happy to be here. They were happily cuddling in one of the armchairs, hair still wet from the bath and their bathrobes tightly wrapped around them, all sweet until Jisoo started laughing by himself.

"What is going on ?"

"It's nothing. I just thought about the first time we met."

"Stop, I embarrassed myself that day."

"You were nervous, no need to be ashamed. You were cute."

"I dropped an entire cup of hot chocolate on you. It was definitely not cute."

-eight years ago-

It was Seokmin's first day at a new job. He didn't know how he even got it in the first place. He was pretty sure he did really badly at the interview. But he was here, ready to do his first shift at a cafe near his university. It was the cafe he really liked with the cute pastries, good drinks and the pretty barista. The simple idea of working with him made his stomach fill up with butterflies. He planned to have a good day and to possibly find new friends in his colleagues.

What he did not plan was to drop his first order on his crush on his first day. He turned red with embarrassment and tried to make sure the barista was okay.

"I'm so sorry ! Are you okay ? I think I burned you ! I'm very sorry."

"I'm fine, I just need to change my shirt."

"I'm getting fired on my first day."

"Oh you're the new waiter ! Don't panic, I just need to change. It happens to everyone."

"Can I do anything for you to forgive me ?"

"It's already forgiven, don't worry."

"Please, I insist."

"If that makes you feel better, I'll let you know."

And the cute barista, who's name is Jisoo (Seokmin learned that two days later), disappears in the staff room to change not without throwing a wink at Seokmin's direction. He understood weeks later that it was an attempt at flirting.

-back to present-

"I still got some free coffees out of that."

"I felt guilty."

"I know you did."

Jisoo quickly stole a kiss from Seokmin's lips before smiling at him.

"By the way, your winking is still terrible."

"Shut up, it took you more than two months for you to realize I was flirting with you."

"Baby, I'm the one who asked you on a date."

"After one year !"

-seven years ago-

He was going to do it, after more than one year of pining and flirting, he was going to ask Jisoo on a date. They became good friends after some time working together and Seokmin was pretty sure Jisoo was constantly flirting with him. So, with the help of Seungkwan, he decided to make a move. He knew this cute restaurant and he was sure Jisoo would like to eat there. He just needed to do the hardest part : actually ask him out on a date. Today was their weekly watch party of Marvel movies and he thought it would be the perfect time to do so.
