10 - running away

here is a part 2 of 'royal wedding', this story is really close to my heart because I started writing a story like this last year (I have the beginning of the story in french) and as much as I would like to give it a full book, I don't think I'm ready to write a full and elaborate story in English.

"Yoon Jeonghan, I will ask you one more time. Where is my son ?"

"I don't know your Majesty. The last time I saw him he was reading on his chair in his room."

"Lies ! You know I could kick you out of this castle."

"I know your Majesty. I am not lying. I have not seen Prince Jisoo since then."

Everything was interrupted by Seungcheol entering the throne room.

"I am sorry to interrupt your Majesty but the Princess wants to talk with you."

"Let her in."

The door opened and the said Princess entered the room.

"Your Majesty, I am truly sorry to interrupt the scolding of your employee but one of my most precious bodyguards has gone missing."

"I am really sorry to hear that. Can I know which one of them has gone missing ?"

Jeonghan and Seungcheol exchanged a worried glance. This was not good.

"Lee Seokmin."

The King's gaze, which was focusing on the Princess, fell on Jeonghan.

"So my son and the bodyguard of the Princess have both gone missing ?"

"Prince Jisoo has gone missing ? What about my wedding ?!"

"Postponed. Let me bring you back to your brother. And Yoon Jeonghan, stay here. We will continue talking after that."

The two royals left the room leaving Seungcheol and Jeonghan alone.

"You need to leave this castle now."

"I can't."

"He's gonna hurt you. I can't let that happen."

"You don't have a choice. If I leave, he will have me killed."

"I promised him I will take care of you."

"How can you take care of me if I'm dead. He will understand, trust me."

"I'll stay here with you then."

"You can't."

"I can't leave you here alone with him."

"You don't have a choice. Go. I'll see you soon."

Seungcheol hugged Jeonghan thightly before kissing his forehead and leaving the room. And if you'll ask him the worst thing he had to do in his entire life is this, leaving Jeonghan at the mercy of a King who has no pity and will enjoy hurting the love of his life.

At the same time two familiar faces were walking, hand in hand, through the woods to find their new home.

"I can't believe we did it."

"I can. And I'm so proud of you for it."

"I'm proud of you too. You left everything for me."

"You left everything too."

"I know but it's not the same. You have a great relationship with your family and you are not going to see them in a long time."

"It's okay. We'll go see them when everything is settled and forgotten."
