A week and a half later...

Chapter Six
Soroya

The rest of our honeymoon has gone without incident. For a week and a half now we've woken up late, gone out and explored the area, I've been giving Bucky cooking lessons, we've watched several 80's rom coms, and we've been having lots and lots of sex.

Its been heaven.

Tonight is our last night at the cabin, tomorrow we fly back to Wakanda and start our task of hunting down what remains of HYDRA. I'm excited to see our family and friends, I'm excited to go home, but I will really miss it here. Having these two weeks with just me and Bucky alone, it's been incredible. Up until now we've had no real time alone, and now that we have, I'm not ready to let it go.

But we have to. Duty calls.

Bucky and I are sitting outside on top of a blanket, sharing a bottle of champagne we picked up from the store, watching the sun set. We've already eaten dinner and packed our bags, all that's left to do is enjoy the few hours we have left of our honeymoon.

"These have been the happiest two weeks of my life." Bucky tells me, passing me the bottle.

"Me too. How about after we finish up with HYDRA we take another trip, maybe somewhere tropical this time?"

"That sounds nice. We could rent a house for a couple weeks right on the water, far away from people, hopefully with no service so Alex doesn't call us."

I shove his shoulder playfully. "Alex wasn't that bad."

"I swear he called every day."

I shrug. "He misses me. And you."

Bucky laughs ironically, but he doesn't argue. I know he misses Alex too. Lord knows I do. I hate being separated from him, and pretty soon we're going to be separated again. He's staying in Wakanda while Bucky, Sam, John, and I hunt rogue HYDRA agents. He made a promise though that he would join us on and off, but not until Khari has fully healed from his gun shot wound. I look forward to when he eventually joins us.

But I don't really want to think about my brother or my friends or my responsibilities right now. I just want to enjoy these last moments with my husband. Our responsibilities to our jobs and families can wait until tomorrow.

"Lena?"

"Yeah?"

"Will you dance with me?"

I feel a smile creep onto my lips. "There's no music."

Bucky take out his phone, and then after a few seconds, 'Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me' by Mel Carter floods from the speakers. He looks impressed with himself that he was able to figure out how to work his phone by himself, and I'm pretty impressed myself. He sets the phone down on the blanket then offers his hand to me, which I take with a large grin spreading across my cheeks. He places his metal hand on my lower back, pulls me to his chest, then we slowly begin swaying back and forth.

"Hold me, hold me,
and never let me go until you've
told me, told me,
what I want to know and then just
hold me, hold me,
make me tell you I'm in love with you."

"Thrill me, thrill me,
walk me down the lane where shadows
will be, will be
hiding lovers just the same as
we'll be, we'll be,
when you make me tell you I love you."

I lean my head against his chest, feeling his chin rest on top of my head, his hand tightening around mine.

"They told me "Be sensible with your new love",
"Don't be fooled, thinking this is the last you'll find",
but they never stood in the dark with you, love, when you take me in your arms and drive me slowly out of my mind."

"Kiss me, kiss me,
and when you do, I'll know that you will
miss me, miss me,
if we ever say "adieu", so
kiss me, kiss me,
make me tell you I'm in love with you."

Bucky unexpectedly dips me, making a giggle erupt from my mouth, but the sound is quickly silenced when he kisses me. His lips don't leave mine as he settles us back upright, continuing our sway, only now both of his hands are holding my back, and I have both arms secured tightly around his neck.

"Kiss me, kiss me
when you do, I'll know that you will
miss me, miss me,
If we ever say "adieu", so
kiss me, kiss me
make me tell you I'm in love with you."

"Never, never, never let me go
never, never, never let me go
never, never, never let me go."

As the song ends and begins playing 'Everybody Loves Somebody' by Dean Martin, Bucky finally breaks our kiss. He brings his metal hand away from my back and begins brushing my cheek with his forefinger, gazing at me like I'm the sun and he's a blind man who's just been given the ability to see.

"I love you, Soroya." He tells me, and I feel an odd flutter in my chest upon hearing him use my first name instead of my nickname. I decide to do the same.

"I love you, too, James." I haven't called him by his first name since we were on the run together, besides his trial, but I hardly think that counts.

He smiles a beautiful, brilliant smile, then leans in to kiss me again, and I happily kiss him back.

We continue to dance even after the song ends, even after the champagne has been drained, and after the sun has long set. Under the dim light of the moon and shining stars, we sway back and forth, our holds on each other tight, and our minds more at ease than they ever have been before.
