March, Age 7

It was afternoon and my every day tutorial sessions with my mother has just finished. Later before I go to sleep, I would have another session but this time, with my father since he was at the university from morning 'til sunset.

Honestly, I prefer my mother's method of teaching more than my father's, though both were strict, Mother explains things to me in a more simple way where I can easily understand them whereas Father makes them a bit complex so I need to figure it out on my own. That's why I tend to do advanced studying a lot so that none of their questions would be left unanswered.

My grandmother always told me that getting some fresh air after a stressful time was always the best thing to do next to eating and sleeping. And since I wasn't in the mood to do the latter two, I stepped out of the house and was now in our front yard, breathing the so-called 'fresh air' and trying to make myself feel at peace.

I decided to sit down on the ground and lay my back on the big tree that was planted on our front lawn. It was very big and its numerous leaves were enough to provide shade against the hot summer sun. Once I sat down, it made me feel a bit more peaceful as the warm spring rays of the March sun weren't that blinding anymore and was now more gentle as it flashed on my face.

However, as the saying goes, 'all good things come to an end.'

And this good thing I just recently acquired applies to that saying.

My body automatically woke up out of instinct as I felt something approaching me. I immediately stood up and step aside, just in time to avoid the flying object that hit the spot on the tree where my head was before.

I watched as the object rolled on the grass and stopped just in front of my shoes. Out of my never-ending curiosity, I picked up the familiar item and decided to take a closer look at it.

It was a ball, made of synthetic leather? Something like that. It was yellow and blue and was kinda unsqueezable? Maybe, since it felt like it would be hard to squeeze the ball when I tried doing so after holding it.

Ah, I think this is what they call a volleyball. My brother and grandfather has a ball that looks like this, actually, my grandfather has a collection of it back in their house at the farm. They were in different colors but he had a lot that was similar to this one.

Grandpa's a volleyball coach, and my brother played as well. My father played sometime before too, he was also good at it since Grandpa was there to train them. I used to watch Grandpa train my brother whenever he visits us and I kinda know how to play this thing.
