 Zhan POV

Uncle Qiren and me walked down the neighborhood, he seemed like a nice guy as he told me about this family and its history. But I knew that's not the real reason why he wanted to speak to me. "Zhan you must've guessed why I wanted to speak to you" he said and I nodded. "You want to make sure I don't hurt Yibo" I said and he slightly smiled.

"You seem like an honest and honorable guy Zhan. That puts me a little at ease," he said, as we headed back to the house. "I've watched Yibo grow up, he's got a lot of heart and soul. I've never seen him look at someone the way he looks at you, not even his own father" he said.

I listened carefully, was he saying Yibo loved me more than his own father? I found that hard to believe. He loved him deeply, if he didn't lose him, he wouldn't have come to Macao in the first place and I wouldn't have met him.

Besides I never tried to push his father's memory out of him, I gladly received what he offered, and which in my eyes will still be more than I deserved. I for one would never give him up, not even to have my parents back.

"He loves with everything he has, and when he loses that it can tear him apart. I've seen it happen with his dad, but neither of them had any control over it" he said "I don't want to see him hurt over something that could've been controlled, do you understand what I'm saying?" he asked and I nodded again.

"I love your nephew, more than you'll ever know. I would never intentionally hurt him," I said with conviction. He nodded and shook my hand "I believe you and with that, I truly wish you two the best" he added smiling.

I smiled too glad I was able to convince him; he and I talked some more as we went back to the house. We walked back in placing our jackets back on the hanger; I sat back next to Yibo. He smiled and put his arm around my waist, he shivered looking at me, "Gosh, you're freezing" he said rubbing my shoulders.  I chuckled "I'm fine" I said, I didn't even feel the cold when I was outside. I was too preoccupied with what Uncle was saying to even notice.

Losing track of time we realized we should get going, we stood up saying our goodbyes. We walked back to the hotel. The next 2 days Yibo took me around the town, it was his turn now to tell me about all the places he loved and grew up in. Unlike me he spent his whole life here and he clearly loved this place.

I sat on the park bench and watched him playfully walk on the edge of the frozen pavement. He smiled looking up, loving the snow on his face. ; I smiled scrutinizing his every move. He had an innocent essence, a pureness that seemed to bewitch me.

I wondered how he must've been like as a little boy. He said he wanted children, I hoped one of them would be one who looked exactly like him.  "I was thinking on a wedding theme color," he said looking at me now.

I rose my eyebrow at him "What happened to having a long engagement" I teased, he playfully pouted. "Oh shut up, I was imagining the day" he replied. I stifled a chuckle "What did you have in mind?" I asked "Red" he replied his eyes miles away, I stood up and walked towards him "Humph and what about what I want?" I asked, I didn't care much about the wedding itself, the only part I cared about was saying I do to him. The rest can be up to him.

"It doesn't matter" he replied, sticking out his tongue at me. I chuckled "Ouch, my feelings are hurt" I teased and he laughed. He twirled around with one foot and lost his balance, I leaned forward and grabbed his waist to lift him off the curb before he could fall.

"Oops" he said and I shook my head at him as I laid him down on the level ground, but kept my arms around him. "You'd be so broken if I wasn't there to catch you all the time" I said kissing his nose, he wrinkled it smiling.

"Then thank goodness you are," he said. I pulled down his beanie over his eyes, he laughed and pulled at my scarf. He suddenly let go gasping and pulled his beanie off his eyes "Mama asked me to get some things for her and I totally forgot" he said. He grabbed my hand and pulled me along with him "Come on!"

We went to the closest department store; he went to sales lady so I decided to look around the store. The store had great stuff; I found really good golf clubs, I also saw a PSP and immediately thought of little Jingyi. It was okay to get him a Christmas present right?

I saw a pair of fluffy slippers; I smiled thinking how cute Yibo would look in those. I grabbed one each pair and went to find him, I found him at the far back end of the store with his back to me "Blue or white?" I asked and he turned, the look on his face surprised me, then I saw that he was standing with some other guy. I quickly surveyed the mood; it was very awkward, like I just interrupted something.

He smiled uneasily "Blue" he said, his eyes were full of apprehension. Like he wanted to get away from here. I remembered this look back when Nana wanted to talk to him; he silently wanted me to save him.

"Hi" I said extending my hand to the guy, he nodded "Hey" he said shaking it. "Um this is my fiancé Zhan" he gestured with his hand "Zhan this is Jackson"

Everything made sense then, this was the idiot that cheated on him. Somehow I felt sorry for the poor bastard, losing Yibo over something so trivial must've hurt, whether he cared for him or not. "Ex boyfriend" he clarified, and I nodded curtly "I'm aware" I replied.

By the look of surprise and anxiety that suddenly passed his expression, he thought Yibo didn't tell me about him. "Well congratulations," he said blankly. "Thank you" I replied in the same tone and turned to Yibo "You got everything you need?" I asked and he nodded.

I held his hand "It was nice meeting you Jackson" I said, letting him know that his time with him was up. He nodded and we turned "See you around Yibo" he said hopefully, I'm going to kill this guy I thought. Couldn't he see that he wanted nothing more to do with him?

Yibo did not reply or look back, we went over to pay for our things and walk towards the car silently. I watched him closely as he stared outside his window, "Are you okay?" I asked he still looked perplexed; he turned his gaze to me.

"Yeah I'm fine," he said "It is just some of the things he said..." he added then his eyes widened like he said something he didn't want to. "What did he say?" I asked unable to keep the irritation out of my voice, he remained silent for a while.

"Yibo?" I probed impatiently and he shook his head at me "Can you let it go, please?" he said defensively, I knew exactly what the bastard wanted and to think he had the audacity of even thinking it made me want to rearrange his face. "Fine then, he'll tell me," I said reaching for the door handle.

He tugged at my arm "Zhan stop it!" he said bellowed, his eyes pleading with me. "He's not worth it, besides it doesn't matter what he said. I'm just a little surprised by the whole situation; I never thought I'd have to see him again. And I certainly did not think you'd ever meet him." he said; I touched his cheek letting him know that it was all right.

"Yeah, because you know I would jump at the chance to punch his face in" I teased; he smiled touching the back of my hand. "I know" he said softly, I kissed his forehead and started the car.
