1. Zhan POV

I parked my car in the garage and got out, Yibo's car was not there yet. That's odd given he always arrives ahead of me. He must've been held up at work, I decided.

I walked into the living room to find Lucy and Angela laughing at something on TV. Lucy looked towards me and she smiled "Daddy!" she exclaimed getting off the couch and running towards me. I put my briefcase down and caught her in my arms; I kissed her cheek "Hey my angel. How was school?" I said

"It was fun Daddy, we had a play, you should've seen it," She said excitedly. I smiled at her "I'm sure it was wonderful." I said, "Where's your brother?" I asked.

"He's playing catch with uncle YuBin." She said then she pouted, "They refused to let me play with them." She added. Angela chuckled and I gave her a fake warning look "Leave them to me, my angel, I'll sort them out." I said putting her down and she smiled again sitting back next to Angela.

I went upstairs; I entered the bedroom shrugging out of my jacket and threw it onto the bed. I walked towards the closet and paused on the dressing table picking up a picture I've never seen before. It was of me and the kids playing in the backyard, Yibo must've taken it himself when we weren't looking.

I smiled, putting it back down. I changed into a pair of jeans and a shirt and walked back out. Just then the door opened and Yibo walked in, I smiled at him when he looked up. He returned it walking towards me "I thought I'd have to call on a search party." I teased and he chuckled "Sorry, work was murder." He said and I gathered him in my arms.

He wrapped his arms around my neck and I tightened my hold on him, slightly lifting him off the ground. He chuckled "Must you always squeeze the breath out of me?" he said and my lips brushed along his earlobe.

I inhaled deeply, taking in his sweet scent "Mmm, it is of my 'favorite things to do when I'm with my vovo." I said, "Here's another one..." I trailed off taking his mouth. He responded to my kiss, but not like he usually did, it's almost as if he was holding back.

Was I imagining that?

He pulled away when I deepened our kiss, I tried to resume it but he looked the other way and my lips kissed his cheek instead. I paused "What's wrong, little one?" I whispered, and he rested his forehead on my shoulder "I'm sorry I...I'm just tired." He said and I set him down, he ran his hand through his hair refusing to meet my gaze. "I need a hot shower, and some sleep."

I smiled at him, hoping he didn't feel bad about rejecting me "It's okay love, aren't you going to come down for dinner?" I asked.

He shook his head "I'm not really hungry." He said and I eyed him, my brows furrowed wondering why that is. "Are you okay?" I asked stroking his cheek.

"I'm fine." He said quickly dropping his gaze; I decided not to push him. "Alright. I'll be in my study." I said kissing his forehead, he nodded and began walking towards the bathroom, unbuttoning his shirt.

I watched him until the door closed behind him, although Yibo was hardly one for mood swings. I decided not to overthink it and I walked out of the bedroom.

I turned in my chair, facing the large window behind me staring at the vast city skyline. I sighed, I hated when my thoughts were all over the place, and it distracted me from putting a dent in my productiveness. All of that was because one question kept running through my mind; what was wrong with my Yibo?

He's been distant these past couple of days. Something was eating him and he seemed adamant not to tell me about it. He blamed it on work and knowing I would interfere he warned me to stay off his boss.
