Chapter Twenty

"Are you home now?"

I looked at the text. Kakapasok ko lang sa kwarto ko. I sat down at my bed still lost in my thoughts. He missed me? He wants another chance? I looked at the flowers he gave me. I just placed them on my desk.

To : Marcus

"I just got home."

I was still thinking about what Sky said. Alam ba nila mommy kaya okay pa sila until now? Aasa nanaman ako sakaniya, but what if he was just playing with me? I was drowned in my thoughts when my phone started ringing.

"Hello?" I said, when I answered the call. It kind of sounded like a question.

"How's your dinner with him?" He asked.

"It was fine, Marcus." I simply answered.

"Are you okay?" There was worry in his voice.

"I'm fine." I said. I just didn't expected na first day ng trabaho magkikita kami ng ex ko. Naka-dinner ko pa!

"Did he do something?" Tanong ulit ni Marcus.

"He just made me realize that I was still in love with him." I said and faked a chuckle.

"Stop hurting yourself, Claire." He said.

"The time I broke up with him, the pain was worth it. Look at him now, he's a doctor. He achieved his dreams, his goals. The pain was worth it as long as he's happy." I said.

"You can't always keep thinking about him." He said.

"You know how much I love him. I didn't expect myself to love him so much. No one can change my love for him. I can't move on, Marcus." I told him. I sighed. "I can't move on if I'm still holding on to him. To us." I knew it was impossible for us to be together again, but what he said made me think that we may have a chance.

Napatagal usap namin ni Marcus. I talked to him about what happened and what I feel. I don't know. Masama bang umasa? Me and Marcus ended the call eventually. We still had work tomorrow.

_skyler : Hi, I'm home. Are you asleep?

acmarquez_ : Hi, sorry just talked to someone.

_skyler : Did you change your number?

acmarquez_ : I didn't.

Hindi naman niya ako rineplyan after noon. Nagulat nalang ako noong nag-ring phone ko. It was an unknown number. I answered it naman

"Hi." He greeted.

"Sky?" I asked. He still had my number? 

"You deleted my number?" He asked.
