The Sky's Plan For Us

Chapter Twenty-Five

"Good afternoon, Doctor Lowell." I greeted him formally.

He just looked at me and said nothing. Hindi man lang niya ko binati! He was with a nurse in doing his rounds. Nanahimik nalang ako noong 'di niya ako pinansin. He looked like he didn't care about my presense o galit lang talaga siya sa'kin by this time? So siya ang doctor ni mom kaya sabi ni kuya magaling doctor ni mom?

"Is mom fine already?" Kuya asked him.

"Yeah, she just needs more rest." He said.

"Thank you, Doc." I said so he could leave now. He just nodded and looked away in return.

It was so awkward! Before he could even leave someone knocked at the door and Marcus entered. Nang makita siya ni Sky tinignan niya ako, he gave me a questioning look. It became more awkward because of that. Sky and Marcus looked at each other exchanging glares.

"Claire, can we talk?" Skyler asked me suddenly. Ngayon kinakausap niya na ako? Halatang nagulat ang kasama niyang nurse, habang nakatingin naman sila mommy sa'kin. Well I told myself I needed to talk to him.

"Uhh... Yeah, sure after your shift." I said. I knew I couldn't run away from us for so long and eto rin naman pinaghandaan ko sa Japan. He just nodded.

"Excuse me." He said and left.

"Hi, Marcus." Mom greeted Marcus. He brought a fruit basket for mom.

"Good afternoon po, tita. How are you po?" He asked mom politely. Nakatingin lang kami ni kuya sakanila.

"I'm fine iho. I heard you're courting Claire." Mom said.

"Yes po, I hope you don't mind." Marcus told mom.

"It's still Claire's decision." Mom told him and smiled.

"Can we also talk?" Marcus asked me naman. I nodded and left the room with him. Nandoon lang kami sa may hallway, nakasandal sa pader. I already needed to fix everything that was a mess right now.

"Marcus, I just want to say that I'm sorry. I know I also hurt you the past few days and I am also truly sorry for that." I told him sincerely.

"Pinili ko naman masaktan." He said and chuckled a little. "Kayo na ba ulit?" He asked.

"No." I simply answered knowing who he was pertaining to. "We also had an argument last week."

"Then until then, I'll be courting you. Habang wala pa, I'll be shooting my chances. Kahit alam kong siya parin, aasa parin akong may pag-asa ako kahit papaano." He said sincerely.

"Marcus... Stop hurting yourself also. You know it's still him." I told him. We were still friends and mas masakit sa'kin na I was the reason kung bakit siya nasasaktan.

"Just let me, Aimee." He said softly.

I just nodded. May lumapit naman sa'min dalawa.

"Attorney, may nagseselos." Bulong ni Dave sa'kin at sabay umalis rin kaagad. I looked around and saw Sky, bigla nalang siyang umakto na may ibang ginagawa. This guy! Binabantayan ba ako nito?

"I think I also need to talk to him, Marcus. We also had a misunderstanding. Pasok ka na muna kila mom." Paalam ko. Marcus just nodded at me.

I smiled at him and went near Skyler. Nagulat naman si Sky nang makita niya ako sa tabi niya. I  showed him a small smile.

"Doc, I'm ready to here your explanation. Text me when you're done with your shift." I told him. I was about to leave when he held my wrist. I then went back and looked at him.
