When she was unconscious for a week I started to get worried. I was scared but I knew she was a fighter and all I had to do was wait for her to wake up. But almost another week passed and she was still unconscious.
I was in a hard situation since she was my patient. Never would I thought that the person I love the most would be my patient and is here right in front of me unconscious. I went in her room, I was doing my rounds. If I have work a helper would be left in her hospital room since her parents also has work. Good thing she was stable. I haven't gone home for two weeks ever since 'cause I was so worried about her. What if she wakes up and I'm not here? For sure she'll look for me.
"Doc, ang ganda niya po 'no?" The nurse said. Of course, my Claire was so beautiful. Even though she was unconscious.
"She's so beautiful. Sana gumising na siya." I said and sighed.
"You love her, doc?" The nurse asked. She was older than me and has been working in the hospital for years.
"I do po. I was about to propose that day." I said. When I told her we were celebrating after my shift, I was already planning on proposing to her.
"She'll fight, just wait for her." She said and I just nodded and smiled at her. I will wait no matter how long.
The moment she woke up, parang nawala lahat ng pagod ko. I could finally breathe properly since I know she was getting better. She wouldn't stop teasing me though. Parang walang nangyari sakaniya. She wanted to go to work so badly, kung pwede lang hindi ko na siya pinayagan. I was already earning enough for both of us, but I didn't want to stop her from what she loved doing the most.
After a week of her working again. I booked a flight to Palawan to surprise her and planned the proposal there. Luckily she said yes. I was going to spend my whole life with the woman I love.
Ever since that day, we spent every hour, every minute, and every second together. I lived with her sa condo niya while our house was still getting renovated. We were already living like a married couple, but still we did already planned our wedding.
Today was our wedding. It has been a year ever since I proposed to her. I can't believe I'm marrying her. I could never ask for anything else. I couldn't help but tear up seeing her walk on the aisle in her white gown.
"I love you. I'll let the whole world know how much I love you. I always thank God that He gave me you. We've gone through so much, my love. But here I am, marrying the woman I saw around UST almost 10 years ago. I promised God before that I would wait for you and love no one else except you. Now, I'm promising God that I will love you and our future kids endlessly. I would do everything to make you happy.
No one can break us apart again, love. The pain we have gone through was enough. Thank you for coming back to me, Claire. From this day, you're finally my wife and I promise to be a good husband to you. I can't wait to go home from work to you and our future kids. We have a life right ahead of us, love. We're gonna enjoy it together. I love you so much." I said my vow to her. She was crying in front of me. "Don't cry, my love." I told her.
