Axel POV

"Are you not going to talk to me now?" I glanced worriedly in her direction as we turned down her driveway. Maybe I pushed her too hard. She wasn't ready to pull the trigger. Maybe she wasn't ready for any of this, but we've been making progress. I needed to push her just a little didn't I?

"No," she responded in certain while staring out the window with a blank stare. Her hands were in tight fists setting on her legs. Maybe she wanted to hit me? I'd be both proud and a bit surprised if she did. Wouldn't that be something?

Her hands covered in blood from the kill balled into fists. The light of white-hot mania shining brightly in her dark blue eyes. Her pupils blown wide in her wrath as she reaches back to land a smooth right cross to my jaw. The sweet, metallic taste of blood on my tongue. Pulling her in by her arm as I wrap mine around her body and crash my lips to hers. The need and animalistic desire burning us like flames as we shred each other's clothes. Fuck, I can't wait to extinguish some of that light and replace it with a darkness matching my own.

I sighed at my daydream running my hand through my hair. I'm sure it's stained in crimson just as my shirt was splattered the same. "Come on, Fayth we have to talk about this!" I repeated when I came back to the present.

She only glared out of the window, her knee bouncing as if she was ready to bolt the moment the car slowed. "Leave me alone, Axel!" She growled back. Her nose flared and I saw that spark in her eye. She was so close. Like striking a match and holding it over kerosene.

She was at her tipping point.

Just a little more.

One more nudge.

I reached for her hand as I put the car in park, but she ripped her hand away and stormed from the car slamming the door with much more force than was necessary.

I can't let her go while she is this angry with me. Who knows what she might do?

I hurried out of my car calling after her, "Fayth!" I heard my voice matched with that of another and in this moment is when I realized we were not alone.

When the fuck did this putz get here? Hasn't he realized he's lost already? When the fuck is he going to get it through his thick head? Hmm maybe I should just put a bullet in his skull instead. That would solve all our problems.

My eyes slide over to my darkening angel and notice that she has frozen in place, her head snapped to the side to look at both of us before her eyes landed wholly on Blain. I watched, mesmerized as her limbs trembled in fury. Venom fell from her lips lacing every word that rolled off her tongue in razor blades cutting deep into his heart. "What are you doing here?" I fought the urge to pull her close to me and claim her lips, her breath, her soul. How was this side of her so devilishly sexy? And seeing him visibly winced from her words almost made me grin. Maybe I won't have to take care of him. She may deliver his death note all on her own.

He seemed shocked and turned to me as if to point the blame at me. His eyes narrowed and I was all too excited for whatever he had to say. He may have had her heart once, but the secret I held in my pocket would shatter any remaining feelings she had for him. Cut the final thread that held her to him.

"Don't look at him! I asked you a question, Blain. Why are you in my house? You ran away. You ran from your problems and the mess you created. Why the fuck are you here?" she screamed. Her voice teetering on hysterics. I never thought I would be thankful for her dimwit of a stepbrother, but I was singing his praises now.

He looked at Fayth with pain in his eyes. I relished in it, drinking it in like a fine wine. There really is nothing better than when the best man wins. "I told you, you can't trust him. He's playing you." He said in frustration. He actually sounded kind of desperate. How pathetic.

I studied Fayth closely, watching how her stance turned more rigid. Her hands opened and closed into fists. I smirked loving how one word, one action... just a tiny breeze could be the difference between the calm before the storm and a natural disaster. When she quirked a brow and laughed in his face i was so turned on, I had to adjust myself. Fuck she is gorgeous. Come on idiot say something else to her. Maybe her first kill will be you instead. If only dreams come true.

"I'm sorry, didn't you do the same? Pot meet kettle. Both of you can get the hell out. I want to be alone."

Ouch. Ok I wasn't expecting that. I went to call after her before I was interrupted by that mouth breather, and I decided just to sit back and watch the show. If he's not leaving, I'm not leaving.

"Fayth he's dangerous" he cried in his whiny bitch-like voice. How could she ever have fallen for someone like him?

"Rumors." I groaned rolling my eyes, he really needs to come up with some new material. This is becoming tedious.

"Truth!" he shouted back getting in my face. I looked to Fayth but kept my hands to myself. Just because she is pissed, doesn't mean she would forgive me if I slit his throat right now where he stands.

Instead, I smiled at him, "And who did you hear this from?" I observed the color flooding from his face. His mouth snapped shut. Exactly. He wanted to attempt to air out my dirty laundry, but his will surely bring more destruction than mine could.

My eyes lit up as I gave him a big fake smile. "It wouldn't happen to be a leggy blonde with a sharp... tongue. Goes by the name of Sandra?" he swallowed hard, and I jumped for the kill.

"And she just so willingly spread her lips for you, Blain?" I asked before granting him a frowning look of disappointment meant mostly for my queen of darkness, "I bet she spread a lot more than that, didn't she?" I stepped back from him looking down at my red stained hands and admiring how the blood dried at different intervals creating shades only a step or two lighter or darker here and there. When I caught his eye again, he looked horrified. He must not have noticed the blood before. Poor boy, this is why you lost your girl so easily. Failure to pay attention to details. "You can color me the bad guy all day long, but in the end, I've been the one keeping my promises while you have done nothing, but break them as easily as crystal"

That's right asshole.

She's mine now.

A few yards away I heard a twig snap, and she was running as if the hounds of hell were at her heels.

I'll kill him if she gets hurt. She'll forgive me eventually.
