Axel

Fayth hadn't called or texted me all day. I know the night didn't end how I had planned, but I thought she would at lest check in and let me know she was ok. Respond to one of my texts, maybe, but that didn't happen.

"Where's your head at, boy?" My father's voice caught my attention. I was supposed to be preparing to head out and check in with our runners. Someone's been skimming the take and that means someone is going to become my problem to deal with.

"Here. I'm just thinking about what to do next." I lied, trying to cover my disappointment. I must have been more transparent than I thought, because he came back with a "sure" and an eye roll.

"Don't let the little tramp distract you or she'll become an issue I'll take care of myself. You don't want that do you, boy?" His gruff voice always feels like ice in my veins, but his threat was crystal clear.

I swallowed hard. "No, sir. I've got it handled. She won't be a distraction." I hate him and how much he terrifies me. He literally holds my life in his hands. He could have me killed with the snap of his fingers. Hell, he had the power to keep me out of juvie, but relished in the fact that I would learn not to step into his business and undermine his ruling again. He wouldn't hesitate to hurt or kill Fayth if he viewed her as a distraction.

I walked out of the house feeling like cement had settled in my stomach. Taking out my phone, I sent another text to Fayth trying to confirm our date, but still was given no response.

It'll have to wait until I handle business.

My bat was splattered with blood as I dropped it to the dusty concrete floor. "I could do this all day, Greg." I smiled broadly as I knelt down next to his bloody, crumpled body and he heaved for breath. "Tell me where to find the rest of the stash or the money you conveniently forgot was due for the product you sold."

He shook his head groaning in pain, "why should I tell you anything?" he panted. "You're just going to kill me anyway." He's got some balls on him. Talking back to me rarely happens and when it does, it's dealt with swiftly and painfully.

I smirked in response, slipping my knife from my pocket and held it to his throat. " I could make it quick and painless, which is a hell of a lot more than a sniveling piece of scum like you deserves, or you can try to keep those lips sealed for once and I'll make sure your death is slower and more painful than you could ever imagine."

"Go fuck yourself." He replied just before spitting a mouth full of blood in my face.

I couldn't help but laugh at his candor. "I'm glad you picked the hard way. I have a lot of misplaced aggression to let out." I took a look at my watch checking the time "you made me miss my date." I smirked down at him wiping the bloodied spit from my face and picked my bat back up off the floor.

"This is going to be fun... for me."

Blain

I lay in my bed with Fayth's head on my chest. Her legs tangled with mine as we watched a new rom-com on my computer. I absentmindedly run my fingers through her hair.

"Love bug," I whisper and she turns to look up at me. "Yeah, B?"

I smiled. The feeling of having her in my arms, knowing how I felt, and the knowledge that she reciprocates those feelings cannot be contained. "Wanna go on a date with me?"

A broad smile lit up her face as she jumped up onto her knees her hands planted on my chest pushing me gently back into the bed so she's looking down at me with excitement. "You mean it? Like out? In public right?" The words tumbled out of her mouth in an elated rush.
