Blain

I had Fayth pinned to the kitchen island kissing her while cooking breakfast on the stove, her plump pink lips are always so welcoming. Her hair in a messy bun while she only wore one of my long t-shirts. I just couldn't get enough.

"B, were gunna burn the pancakes." She laughed against my lips. The sound feels like a punch to the gut, taking my breath away. I could listen to her laugh all day. "I don't care." I kissed her deeper pulling another giggle couple with a moan from her tasty lips only to be dragged from our bliss by a knock at the door.

"Fuck." I huffed pulling away from her. Her bottom lip stuck out in a playful pout and I couldn't help the smile that tugged at the corner of my mouth.

I caressed her bottom lip with my thumb. "You better be right here when I get back. I'm not done with you." I watched as her cheeks turned pink and she pulled her bottom lip between her teeth.

Fuck, how I want to be the one biting that lip right now.

I left her on the island to answer the door. A tall blond guy stood on our porch drenched from head to toe from the downpour outside. I thought I knew everyone in this neighborhood by now. "Hi, can I help you?" I asked catching him off guard.

He looked up with a sigh of relief "Hey, sorry to be of bother, but could I maybe use your phone?" He held up his cell showing the black screen. "My sister just moved here and apparently thought it would be funny to take my charging cord. It died about an hour ago." He reasoned.

I raised a brow and gave a nod catching Fayth walking around the corner. "Hi" she called bouncing up beside me. "You said you need the phone?" he nodded in response. "Come in." she gave him a warm smile and led him into the kitchen showing him the house phone.

After his call he said his thanx and left to wait in his car.

"He seemed nice." Fayth commented but I didn't share her feelings on this one. There was something about the guy that I immediately didn't like.

"Maybe, but just in case... don't let strangers in the house when you're alone ok, love bug?" she gave me a funny look before turning back to the pancakes. "Sure, B, but neighbors don't really count as strangers." She rolled her eyes chuckling at my overprotective nature.

"Can't you get your head out of your ass for one second?" My father shouted at me. His face turning red in rage. He didn't seem to appreciate the turn of events. In tracking the hands the money passed through I found that it had floated from hand to hand until it went to a rival gang for drugs that were later sold by a handful of our guys to children in the area. The media was losing their shit. Four children tested positive for amphetamines in the last week. Twenty over the past month. In my father's eyes I had failed to locate his money and I was to blame for the attention we were getting in headlines.

My father's fist crashed against my jaw. "Do you understand what's going to happen? Do you remember the treaty we have with the Italians? We don't deal to children and we keep the drugs in the slums, and they leave us alone for a price. Do you have any idea of the hell that will befall us if this gets back to Ezio?" His fist collided with my jaw again. My mouth filled with blood which I tried desperately not to spit back on his expensive leather shoes.

"I'll find out who's responsible. I'll take care of it." I tried to reason before his hand came across my face in a backhanded slap hitting me so hard, I spun and landed on the ground on all fours. "You will do no such thing. You will shut your mouth and stay out of my way." He glared down at me in disgust. "You're lucky I haven't killed you yet. You are nothing but a disgrace to my name. Your mother should have aborted you when I told her to. I knew from the beginning you would be a worthless, sniveling, weakling unworthy of taking over my place." His heel met my side in a rib crunching kick as he shoved me to roll onto my back. I gasped from the pain. Crying or making a sound had long been beaten out of me. It would only infuriate him further.

"Get out of my sight." He bellowed having me clutch my aching ribs as I stood to my feet and walked painfully out of his office.

I need to find out who was behind the traitorous action and take care of it swiftly before he finds his inevitable reason to put a bullet in my skull.

Fayth

For the second time today, an unannounced visitor stood at our doorway. A tall blonde woman around our age stood giggling at something Blain had said as he casually stood in just his jeans. His bare chest on full display and I did not like the way she kept glancing at his body. I grit my teeth together trying to calm my inner demons.

Blain isn't Toni.

I can trust him.

The blond girl placed her hand on his arm smiling up at him batting her eye lashes driving me mad. I cleared my throat to make my presence known. They both turned to me and Blain's smile brightened.

"Fayth, this is Sandra. She's apparently new to the neighborhood. The guy from earlier was her twin brother, Sabastian." He informed me in kind.

She had retracted her hand from his arm and nodded in confirmation. "That's right. He's here helping me move in. I'm so sorry for interrupting your morning earlier. We are always playing jokes on each other. It's a sibling thing, I'm sure I don't need to explain to you two." Her smile was friendly, but her words rubbed me wrong. I had to force a smile to stay on my face.

"Actually, we don't." I said calmly as Blain slipped his arm over my shoulders.

She looked confused for a moment before her smile was back in place "Oh that's right. You are step siblings. I remember my neighbor telling me. Sorry. I shouldn't assume things like that. It is 2020 after all. Families come in all shapes and sizes." She looked embarrassed of herself for a moment. "I just see siblings and think, hey they would understand. I'm sorry."

"Easy assumption to make" Blain said.

She smiled up at him wiping her nearly shed tears from her eyes. "Oh, what am I doing? I came over to thank you and give you this pie, not hold you two up. I'm sure you have tons of plans for the day, but if you all don't have plans tomorrow night, would you both like to join us for dinner. Sabastian would be incredibly pleased as well." Her voice was hopeful, and I couldn't see breaking her heart when she was new and seemed to just be trying to make friends.

"Of course," I told her "We'll be there."

We said our goodbyes before she left, and I sighed closing the door.

Unknown: Aww poor, Toni. Is it still cold on that side of the ice queen's shoulder?

Toni: Who the fuck is this?

Unknown: A friend of a friend.

Sandra

"What's taking you so long." Bast hollered as I tried on my fifth outfit of the night. Something just wasn't right. I didn't like how that one held my curves or how much skin the next one covered.

"I'm almost ready" I called out just loud enough for him to hear me through the door.

"Hurry up. Damn! It's not like this is a date. Or is it and you just didn't tell me?" he opened the door wiggling his eyebrows. "I mean I'm not against it if it is, his sister is fucking hot!"

"Shut up, Bast!" I threw a pillow at his face laughing as he looked on shocked at my assault.

Tonight, is going to be great. I can just feel it in my bones.
