Ren POV

He's an idiot. A complete idiot and she is so damn stubborn it's a wonder how they even manage to live in the same house.

I served her up on a silver platter for heaven's sake!

I helped her build her confidence and learn about herself. That was always my goal. I played with his jealousy and need to protect her, but still he drove her away. And now?

Now they ignore each other or fight like siblings.

Some days I want to just lock them in a room together and wait until the quiet descends, but with them you'd never know if they were ripping each other's clothes off or ripping out the other's throat.

How damn hard is it to get that you love each other? I've been a silent observer of this back and forth bullshit excuse of "family" between them for years now. I've seen the looks, heard the jokes, felt the tension. How can they not get it?

Being around them is both a joy and infuriating. They both do the stupidest shit.

Did he need to lie about that night? No. But did she need to throw him back to square one for it? Hell no! I can understand both sides but if they don't get their shit together real damn soon, I might just have to take matters into my own hands!

"Blain, stop using all the hot water!" I hear Fayth scream while pounding on their bathroom door up the stairs.

He doesn't miss a beat yelling back "Wake up on time and maybe you would have hot water!"

They've been like this for days now. She's pissed with him and he's goading her on because it's the only way she will talk to him. Lovely isn't it? Note my sarcasm.

"Ugh I hate you so much!" She stomps off down the hall.

I hear him chuckle but I know he doesn't find this the least bit funny, "So you've told me!"

I know he's hearting, but so is she and now they are just hurting each other and themselves more.

"Fayth!" Her father yelled from his seat next to me looking out of sorts. They never used to fight like this and it's taking it's tole on the whole household.

I sit quietly waiting for them to come down so we can go to the movies like we had all planned. I had hoped it would end on a good note, but we seem to be getting off to a glorious start.

"Look what you've done now." She growled hitting the bathroom door hard.

"Maybe if you weren't so mean to me." He said like a hurt child. She may think he mocking her, however, his feelings in that statement are genuine.

I'm slowly losing patience with these two. I knew having her kiss Axel in front of him would bring out the last push he needed to claim her as his, but he had to go and fuck that up with Regan and her big, jealous mouth.

I'll never understand what he saw in her. She's as shallow as they come and not at all a nice person. She's as fake as the extensions and self tanner she applies.

I watch as Fayth comes into the living room closely followed by Blain. The smile on his face is a mask he's learned to put on with time. If she would even bother to look in his direction she would see the facade as clearly as I see her masking her own heartbreak.

These two.

Damn, stupid, idiots I tell you!

Her father stands and shoots her a look. "I don't know what's gotten into you, but you need to apologize now! We don't speak to family like that. Say sorry to your brother." She flinches, not at the tone of her father, though he never raises usually his voice to her. She flinched at the word brother. Her eyes darting to Blain and for a moment the mask slips and sadness mixed with a longing is evident in her eyes. Blain's jaw ticks. I know he hates being called her sibling. It drives him mad.

Finding her voice seems to be a struggle of it's own as it comes out as a hushed whisper. "I'm sorry Blain. I shouldn't have said I hate you." But she doesn't meet his eyes. She keeps her gaze on the ground. Blain simply nods and looks away.

Her father sighing pinching the bridge of his nose catches my attention. This has been really hard on him.

I clear my throat feeling all the tension in the room "aww that's so sweet! Now hug and make up you two!" I say in a teasing tone causing all three to stare at me. Her father with a look like "you're not helping." Blain with a smirk. And Fayth with a look like she wants to kill me.

I put my hands up in defense. "Wow damn I was just trying to help." I say innocently. This causes the two of them to give a small laugh while her father shakes his head. "Get out, Ren." He points to the stairs toward Blain's room. "You too, Blain. Finish getting ready." He looks to Fayth. "Before you go we are having a talk." He walks off toward his home office before Fayth turns to follow him. She glances back at Blain with a glare "jerk." She says under her breath. "Brat." He calls back with a smirk and the two of us head back up to his bedroom.

Tonight is going to go swimmingly. Maybe I should invite more people so it's not a blood bath?

Thinking of... I know just the people that could keep this night from being complete shit and possibly fix this!

You'll both thank me for this later.

I take out my phone as I enter Blains room, creating a group chat with the few people I want to invite, and quickly send off a text.

Movies tonight you in?
