Chapter 35 - Magic Council Arc

Although it usually needed 1 full day to reach there, the Council have prepared a portal at the designated place to reach there in no time. 

What made it worse was that the group that was assigned to lead her was a group of people who hated her when she was still in the Council, Damon Stepe & his troops.

Arriving there, the aura of the place was as bad as ever. Vyera never liked the place. It was full of the smell of justice and law, or that's what they claimed to be. She was quiet throughout the journey despite Damon's bait to make her angry. She definitely won't give him any reason to revenge or disband the guild, even if she couldn't go back anymore.

Proceed immediately to the trial room; now that she could see them clearly, all of the candidates were younger than her. There were 2 girls and 3 guys. All of them looked pretty normal, except that they were all looking at her with admiration.

"... Vyera Phoenix, The Council Secret Inspection Mage, Fairy Tail Guild's S-Class Mage, The Dancing Diva, The Gaia and One of the Ten Holy Mages," said by one of the members. Vyera didn't even take notice of so many titles of hers. In fact, she was amazed that they kept track till those unofficial names such as the Diva or the Gaia. He continued, "You will be judged whether the dangerous ancient demon, Xrytos, sealed in you really is well controlled within you and will not pose any danger to humanity in the future."

"... And exactly how am I going to prove that Xrytos is well controlled inside me?" 

"Before we answer that, just know that we are not unreasonable people. Of course, we will not ask you to work for us using your guild as weapon." One of the members said, "We just want to make sure the world is at peace."

As strict as they were, they were not as bad as what she thought. Possibly, this council was better than previous ones.

"But I thought I'm here to-"

"-be trialled, yes. We have to ensure you can control the demon inside you before we let you go. Not sure how long that will be so we put indefinite in the letter. Looks like it gave off a wrong meaning instead."

The more you thought of it, the funnier it got. You couldn't but laughed about it, "I'm sorry but that tension back at the guild all seemed so ridiculous now..." 

"Although we would appreciate you to write to your guild member to let them know you are okay. We can't have another incident like when Titania was trialled." 

Vyera obeyed. A proper magical letter should be able to convince them she was okay. The Council wouldn't harm her in any way. The trial went rather smoothly. They only questioned her about the Tower of Paradise and how she lost her memory. She didn't want to reveal the existence of Edoras in case they were interested in taking over so she continued Erza's story of losing her memories. 

"... Thus, after staying for a while in the guild, I recovered my memories." She concluded.

One of them furiously scribbled down every word that she said, "... So onto the demon Xrytos... You claimed you can control it, correct?" Another one asked calmly.

"Yes. I believe so. I sealed it with my own magic power and it is quietly sleeping in me. It won't be able to take over my body anymore. It kind of fused into me now."

"... We will be testing you unexpectedly as and when to see whether you can control it well. Meanwhile, we hope you'll accept our proposal to make you the Head of the Investigation department."

"...Wait, it's becoming a department now?" Vyera asked again, another surprise from this new council.

"After all the works you have done, we have decided to make it into one since it helped in tracking down the dark guilds and other unsolved cases. Will you accept it?"
