Nogla's pov-

I laugh happily, as my ma just had said something funny. I was on the phone with my parents, and I was happier than ever. I mean yeah, we'd call eachother like once a week, but I still missed their voices every time.

"How's your health ba?" I asked my dad. He sighed, and there was a bit of silence on their end.

"Ba?" I furrowed my brows. My ma sighed before responding.

"Daithi, your ba is dying. He needs dat surgery now, but money is just too low." She announced. I felt my chest go numb.

"Wait- wah? No no, ye said it was only seventy grand ma, and we payed it all!" I said, sitting up in my chair.

"We did! But the damn hospital bumped it up to fockin' a mill since I turned fifty tree!" My ba said while coughing. I sighed and shook my head, feeling a tear drip down my cheek. I then sat up and shook my head.

"No." I said while standing up and grabbing my keys.

"No? What do ye mean no?" My ma asked.

"I'm not letting ye guys down. I'm gonna get a side job, an' every single penny is going to t'at surgery." I said sternly, as I grabbed on a pair of shoes and went out the door.

"But Daithi, honey what about ye-"

"Don't worry ba. I'm fine, your not. I'm gonna work hard and try my best to get the money. With Katie and Aindreas helping, we should be good." I said. I heard my ma sigh, and mumble something.

"Fine baby, but fend fer yeself as well, we don't want ye to starve and go broke." She said calmly. I laughed and nodded, even though she can't see me.

"I will ma, take care. And make sure ba takes his meds, I know how much he hates em'." I warned. She laughed and agreed, before saying goodbye and hanging up.

I hurried to my car and started it up, ripping out of the driveway in a hurry. I speed down town and look to every store, shop, restaurant and business place there is.

_

I stop at every single one of them, having a 'for hire' sign or not. The all end up the same. I'm too young, I don't have a college degree, or I'm just not fit for the job. It's all bullshit! I slam my hands on the wheel in frustration, feeling my eyes burn, on the verge of tears.

"No! He can't die on me!"I yell to myself. I start the engine again and take one last sweep of the streets. I know what you're thinking. Why not use your YouTube money David?

Well I'm all out! As crazy as it sounds, I used it all on the surgery, and just when I had got enough to pay my bills, the hospital need more! That's some bullshit! I drive over and over again. Looking and the same damn streets of L.A.

Just as I was about to give up, I spot a tiny little diner called kitties cafe. I cringe at the name, but soon replaced it with a hopeful smile, as I see the 'for hire' sign. I quickly park the car and get out, rushing to the building.

I opened the door and hear a quiet ding, and breath in the fresh smell of coffee and bread. I walked over to the bar, and sit down on one of the stools. I was greeted by a short woman. She had dark skin and her hair was brown and curly.

"Oh you're new, welcome to kitties cafe, what can I get you to drink?" She asked. I smiled at her and shook my head.

"Um, no actually I'm here for a job?" I asked. Her eyes widened and she quickly pulled me to the other side of the counter.

"Uh, where we goin'?" I asked as she dragged me to the back room. She smiled as she set me down in a chair, and sat down in front of me. I looked around, and we looked like we were in some lounge.
