Marcel's pov-

"So like, how far is this place again?" Scotty asked, for what felt like the tenth time in the past hour.

I chuckled lightly, rolling my eyes at how impatient he was.

"Well, look around Scott." I said, glancing up to see him scope our surroundings. It was all dirt and sand. There was only a few small shops here and there. A gas station or three.

"We're in the middle of God knows where. It'll be a good half hour until we're at the event." I continued, shaking my head as Scotty just gave me the stick of his tongue.

"But I'm borrrred!" He whined, huffing as he slouched back in his chair. I only laughed at that, which was immediately cut off as a loud rumble came from my stomach.

I didn't need to take my eyes away from the road, to know Scotty was smirking at me with that grin that sharks would envy.

"Shut up." I said, to which he just burst out laughing.

"Hey, I used to hang around these parts as a teenager when I'd stay with my grandparents. There should be a bar not too far from here. We could stop real quick and get some food?" He suggested.

As much as I'd like to disagree, we both knew how long it's been since we left home, and neither of us brought snacks for the trip.

"Fine. But just real quick. I don't wanna miss the star wars convention." I agreed. Scotty giggled, nodding in response.

"Trust me, we won't. Plus, we'll be in and out faster than you'd think." He commented, muttering the last part to himself.

I hummed in response. However, I pondered his words for a few seconds, getting a bit curious.

"Wait, why?" I asked, glancing over to shoot Scotty a confused look. He just chuckled, shrugging his shoulders as he pulled his phone out.

Probably to occupy his eyes so that he didn't have to meet eye contact. He did that a lot I noticed.

"Uh, cause it's a gay bar. And not saying you're a jaw dropping model or anything but you're not average, so a few dudes might hit on you. The bar is always packed, last time I checked." He said, taking a pause to laugh to himself before he continued.

"You might get a bit uncomfortable with gay's this side of the country." He added.

I hummed, nodding in understanding.

Scotty had been openly gay to us all for about ten years, almost eleven now, so it wasn't a surprise.

He told us stories all the time of when he was a kid, but never really gone too much into his late teen years, as the guys didn't really wanna hear about Scott's past dating life.
