Third pov -
By now, hybrids were a normal thing. People bought them off the market as regular house pet's that were to be treated kindly. Some did it for loneliness, some did it to occupy their kids, and some just did it because of the need to own one like most of their friends did.
To fit in.
Aliyah, bought one for comfort. Her last relationship had gone into a downfall and when she got into another one, she felt as if she needed to occupy her thoughts with something other than her own paranoia.
So she adopted a rescue. His name was David, but all the caretakers called him Nogla. It meant 'friendly' in his native tongue, and she immediately understood why they all called him that.
He was an energetic, friendly little pup.
Humans couldn't understand hybrid talk, so all they heard were the noises of which the half hybrid was. Like Nogla, all Aliyah heard were barks and whines.
Regardless, she loved him. He was a bit needy when it came to playing and needing attention, but she was fine with that. It helped her keep her mental health in check anyways.
However, after a good six months of going out with Chrissy, the woman didn't have as much time for Nogla as she used to.
She was always caught up with her job and her girlfriend. Nogla understood at first. He liked Chrissy like a second 'mother', and knew that she was a good fit for Aliyah—if not a perfect fit.
So Nogla left them alone and let Aliyah run off whenever she wanted to spend some time with her girlfriend.
And more time. And even more time. Until almost all of Aliyah's time was consumed by Chrissy.
Nogla wasn't bothered that Chrissy took his 'mother' away. But he was a bit annoyed that the two kept running off and leaving him at home.
The least they could do was take him with them, right?
But it seemed almost every night was date night. And Nogla was not allowed to come on date night.
The problem wasn't so much of an issue when Chrissy moved in. However...it turns out that Chrissy had her own pet hybrid.
