"Oh sweetheart I'm so glad to see you!" My mom exclaimed as she rushed out the front door. I laughed as she wrapped me up in a hug. I hugged her back just as tightly. I missed her more than I anticipated. Not seeing her everyday of the week was strange. It almost felt like I had been abandoned and I didn't like that feeling.

Liam shut the car door and brought up my bag. He was smiling the entire time. My mom laughed and let go of me before hugging Liam. He laughed as well, handing me my bag. I made the mistake of reaching for it with my bruised hand, which Harry had so kindly bandaged up. It was stiff and sore but that was about it. I switched the backpack to my other hand.

"How have you two been!" My mom exclaimed. "How's college? How's Niall? What are your classes like?" She asked all at once excitedly.

"Mom, mom I'm sure Liam will want to see his parents." I said gesturing back down toward his house. She waved me away.

"Oh you're right, I know. They're coming down for dinner tonight anyways. Make sure your father comes Liam. I haven't seen him in ages." I blinked in surprise. I hadn't either. He was a hard worker, I knew that, but he had completely slipped my mind.

"He's off for once today. Mom made sure of it. They both want to hear all about college too." Liam replied with a roll of his eyes. I laughed as my mom began to scold him.

"You're our children. We need to know these things! We need to know if everything's okay." I think that was directed more towards me than Liam, who smiled tightly.

"We're fine, promise." He turned to me. "Looks like I'll see you tonight Em." He said giving me a one armed hug before kissing my forehead. I grinned.

"See you later Liam." My mom hugged him goodbye before Liam got in his car and drove to the end of the block, parking in front of his house. He waved from his front lawn and we waved back before heading into the house. My mom was smiling like a mad women. "What?" I asked as we entered the house.

"Nothing!" She said a bit high pitched. "It's just.. Liam.. And you." She turned to me, still smiling as I closed the font door. I stared at her confused until I realized what that smile meant.

"Mom!" I exclaimed.

"Oh come on sweetheart. He is a looker and you two have known each other forever." I sputtered.

"Liam is not a looker. He's my best friend. And it's because I've known him for so long that I don't want to be with him." I snorted and shook my head. "We both know too much about each other to fall in love."

"That's exactly why I think you two will."

"Mom, no. I love Liam but I'm not in love with him besides I already.." I stopped. I almost said, I already have a boyfriend or maybe I was going to say I already found the person I want to spend the rest of my life with. Either way, I was still thinking about the same person. Zayn. My mom seemed to sense that something had changed because she smiled and said,

"I'll let you go to your room. You might want to take a nap or relax." She said placing a hand on my shoulder. I nodded and smiled, following her instructions.

Instead of relaxing and lying down though, I began my homework. Typical Emma. Sighing, I tapped my pen against my cheek. My phone rang. I glanced at the caller ID and rolled my eyes at the contact name that popped up.

"What do you want Harry?" He scoffed.

"Is that any way to answer the phone?" He scolded lightly. I could just see him laying on his bed in his dorm smirking.

"No but it's how you would answer it for me as well."

"Touché." Harry said with a chuckle. "Anyways I was just seeing if you were alive. Liam drives like a crazy person." I snorted.
