3 1/2 Months Later:

"I need better friends." I mumble staring at the two in front of me. Liam rolls his eyes and Niall just grins.

"You don't need better friends! We're as good as it gets." Niall says slapping down a card. "Bingo." I sigh heavily and shake my head.

"Uno, Niall, Uno. Not Bingo. That's an entirely different game you idiot!" I reply with sigh. Liam starts laughing as he scoops up the cards, getting ready to shuffle them.

"Same thing. You shout a one sylable word that ends in 'o'. I have the gist of it down." I shake my head again and roll my eyes.

"This is why I need better friends." Niall laughs again.

"Oh lighten up! This is the last day of our glorious summer vacation." He protested at the sour look on my face.

"We're just moving in. Not starting classes." Niall rolled his eyes.

"We are practically starting college okay and you're being lame by wasting our time Emma!" He complained loudly. I socffed and rolled my eyes.

"How am I being lame?" I demanded. "Besides, I think playing cars already is a waste of our time." I murmur fiddling with my soda can in front of me.

"Than what should we be doing?" Liam questioned, arching an eyebrow at me as he arched the cards, shuffling them back into a perfect pile. I shrugged and sat back, twirling a strand of hair between my fingers.

"Something fun." I replied.

"You're not having fun?" Niall questioned. I sighed. I didn't want to answer the question. We had been over this topic so many times before and I never said no. I always ended up saying that I was but that I felt like we should be doing something else. The something else I had in mind though was smoking, drinking, drugs. All summer I've been restless. The things that used to entertain me no longer have the same affect. TV bores me, every movie that comes out is lame, and books don't captivate me like they used to. I would blame it all on Zayn and what he did to me but this is all me. I'm letting this breakup affect me in the most negative way possible.

"Earth to Emma." Liam says waving his hand back and front of my face.

"What?" I questioned.

"You completely spaced." I shrugged. I've been doing that a lot now.

"Sorry guys, guess I'm tired." I murmured.

"Haven't been sleeping well?" Niall questioned. He should know. When I sleep over at his place, in my own room which is pretty cool, we stay up until nearly three in the morning and he usually finds me still wide awake when he comes to around noon.

"No, not really." I murmur, rubbing my temple. In my peripherals I watch Niall shoot Liam a look. They've been trying to distract me all summer with stupid things like this. Games, food, company. I'm always either at Liam's house or Niall's. It was smothering. They can't help me with the sleepless nights though.

"Have you talked to your mother about it?" Liam questioned, passing out the cards again. I shake my head. My mother always works and before, when I was in school, I never noticed much. I mean she was gone when I woke up and usually not home until dinner time but I felt it was more bearable during the school months, not the summer months, especially not this summer.

"I hardly ever see her." I replied. Liam should know this by now.

"I usually just ask my maid." Niall says. He's trying to keep the mood light, I can tell.

"Well we're not rich like you with giant houses and maids Niall." I reply reaching up and messing with his hair. Niall leans away from me laughing and hitting my hands.
