BEST MEAL
Two helicopters simultaneously landed. We stepped out from one helicopter with Mang Cardo and another bodyguard. Mark held my hand as we headed for the elevator.
Josie stepped out from the other helicopter followed by another two members of Mark's security team. I could see the innocent wonder in her eyes, and I smiled in fondness.
She kept on bugging Mang Cardo before we left to tell her about the city. She has never been into a big city. Mang Cardo is from Manila. He joined Papa's team, met his wife in Dapitan, and decided to root with his family there.
"Miss, sa inyo daw po itong lahat?!" She was instantly at my side. Eyes turning wider when she learned that snippet from one of Mark's bodyguards.
"Right?!" My eyes turned wider as my mouth rounded in awe to indulge her excitement.
Mark laughed at us. Mang Cardo kept pulling her back from my side.
"Josie, umayos ka nga ng kaunti. Baka mabunggo mo si Miss." Paalala nito.
"Akala ko paraiso ang resort n'yo, Miss! Pero sobrang ganda rin pala dito!" She totally ignored Mang Cardo.
"Did you just take a dig at our resort?" I squinted at her.
"Hindi po! Sobrang nakakalula lang dito! Moderno na nasa gitna ng kalikasan." Just like me, she instantly fell in love with the place too.
It has successfully blended modern into nature, creating an immaculate paradise at the very center of the city. I was pleasantly surprised when I spotted only a handful of people.
"You barely have guests. This place will tank soon!" I turned to Mark.
He laughed at my concern. Paano mababawi ang ginastos sa construction and maintenance nitong buong lugar kung walang gumagamit at walang masyadong customers.
"Do not worry about it. We have never had any business meet that kind of problem. That's my family's greatest strength." He was proudly showing off.
"This might just be the first!" I gave him a side-eye when he was not taking my concern seriously.
"It won't be. The investment has successfully been returned three years ago. The prices of the residential units covered all of it. Even doubled it. Everything's just operating for continuance." He winked proudly as he divulged his successful business endeavor with this complex.
We arrived at the lobby of the main building. I looked around in awe at how grand everything is. A group of staff gathered to welcome us. They were all wearing exclusively tailored black suits making them look extremely refined and sophisticated. They stood and carried themselves very well.
Their left chest has an embroidered logo for ELLA Center. It is my name with a crown identical to my tattoo even down to its angle. It rests a little over the first two letters. Below the logo is their name.
"Welcome Mr. and Mrs. Carvajo!" A middle-aged male staff wearing a very nice suit came to personally greet us in his confident stride.
"I am not!" I corrected him right away.
"Yet." Mark added instantly. "This is my Ella." Pakilala niya sa akin dito.
"THE ELLA?" He asked bewildered pointing at the logo on his chest.
"Yes." Mark simply answered as he held my hand tighter.
"Oh my god! It is her!" He covered his mouth with his hands trying to recover from the sudden outburst.
