An hour and fifteen minutes later, the Bacolod vegetation came into view. I prepared to disembark along with fellow passengers, careful to leave last and avoid the crowd and any unwanted touch from strangers.
I picked up the vehicle parked in the airport parking lot. Drove to the office to sign some documents. Visited the orphanage para kumustahin sina Mommy. She manages it full-time and stays there too. It was a quick visit, but I promised to be back the next day to see the kids. Most are currently in school. Others are attending their music lessons.
I went home at noon. Lolo and Lola were at the lanai enjoying some refreshments. Mukhang kakatapos lang kumain ng tanghalian.
"How was the contract?" Lolo inquired.
"We have decided to cancel it. Their company could no longer be our partner. Hahanap na lang po ako ng ibang paraan." I gave them the latest update.
"Was he there?" Lola also asked, pertaining to Mark.
"Yes. We're good." I also gave them the latest update regarding Mark.
"Are you alright?" Nag-aalalang tanong ni Lola sa akin.
"Of course!" I affirmed. Then proceeded to the kitchen fo grab some lunch. "Luriel is here too. Nauna kahapon kasi Tita Isabella wanted to have dinner with me. I will discuss some offers we have with his business partners too."
Manang Sela prepared the table for me, katulong ang kanyang dalagitang apo na si Ivy. She also stays with us kasi mas malapit ang paaralan from here. She has to trek the mountains just to attend school noong nasa sekondarya na ito.
Manang Sela is still active and healthy. She has been taking care of mostly Lolo and Lola now that I refuse to be babied. I would help around the house since I returned from the cabin, started living back in the mansion.
Noong naging maayos na ulit ang takbo ng hacienda, we hired more househelp. She did not let go of her duties though, siya pa rin halos gumagawa sa karamihan ng mga trabaho. Ayaw niya raw tumambay at tumatamlay siya. She wants to keep moving and stay healthy.
"Pupunta po ako sa maisan to check on the harvest."
I need to monitor the harvest." Tanggi ko.
Sensitive ang harvesting ng aming mais. The client is using it for cornstarch and corn oil. Our corn is organic, and it is getting more popular. The problem is keeping its quality until it reaches the client, which is from Dumaguete City. From the cornfield, we stock the corn at the warehouse for sorting and quality check. We ship them to the client soon after.
The most on demand organic produce we have is the sugarcane. They haul the sugarcane directly from our plantation. I could monitor the processing for organic dark brown sugar directly from the mill.
