you woke up early, ready to go look at the school with your dad. you silently get up, trying not to wake Steve. you take a quick shower and get dressed. you look at Steve who was still peacefully asleep, god you loved that man. you softly place a kiss on his forehead before you walk to the kitchen.
you see Bucky standing in the kitchen "good...morning" you say to him still getting used to talking again. "good morning y/n" he says smiling up at you.

"so i take it the doctor said you could talk again?" he asks. you nod your head "yes" you say with a hoarse voice. "why are you up so early?" he asked "not another nightmare again?" he asked with worry on his face. "no...i'm go-ing...to look" you say heaving trouble forming the words "at.... a..sc-hool...to-day" you say swallowing hard to hopefully let the pain in your throat disappear but it didn't help. "you're going back to school?" Bucky asked you. "yes" you say as you nod. "that's great!" he says "I think you'll enjoy it" he said truly being excited for you. which was a better reaction than Steve had. you smile up at him, and he smiles back. you 2 still haven't talked about what happened at hydra 2 weeks ago, what he said. if you were being honest with yourself you were glad you couldn't talk, because you had no idea what you would have said to him. because you really liked him and there was definitely a spark between the 2 of you but were you in love with him, you didn't really know the answer to that.
you and Bucky ate breakfast together in silence, you felt the tension between you 2. luckily Tony came walking into the kitchen "good morning" he said grabbing breakfast. "mor-ning" you say while your voice cracked. your dad looked at you worried "how do you feel" he asked. "it's...painful" you replied honestly. "I think you should take the medication the doctor gave you" he said. "but...i" you began saying, pain visible in your eyes when you tried to talk. "I know" Tony said knowing what you wanted to say "but y/n, you didn't had any nightmares in a while, at least try it?" he said. you nodded your head and took the medicine the doctor had given you.
half an hour later you drove with your dad to the school. "are you excited?" he asked. "yes" you replied already feeling the medicine work because it didn't hurt anymore when you talked. "wow, that's a big building" you say as the school came into few. you stepped out of the car and looked around you. you saw student everywhere. "are you coming?" your dad said smiling to you. "yes" you said as you walked with him inside. you walked up to an office where a sweet looking woman was sitting. she introduced herself "hi, i'm principal Davis" she said "I'm y/n" you said after your dad had introduced himself. "come have a seat y/n" she said sweetly. you took a seat next to your dad, all of a sudden you got a bit nervous. Tony saw and quickly squeezed your hand a little signaling that is was going to be okay.
"so y/n, why do you want to go to school again?" she asked you. "I just want to learn, I want to do something with my life" you answer. "then you've come to the right place" the principal said smiling at you. "do you have any idea what collage you'd like to go to?" she asked you. "no" you replied after thinking about it for a few seconds, it would be nice to go to a music school but you had no idea if you could even still play the guitar, let alone if you were ever gonna be able to sing again. "she applied for a music major a few years ago" your dad said to the principal. "that's impressive" she replied. "we have a school band you can try out for them if you like" she said. you just smiled at her.
