after some talking, an a few more bottles of wine. your dad offered to drive you home. you texted may it was going to be late and that she didn't need to wait up. you and your dad drove home, but he took a left turn. "uhh dad, it's that way" you said to him. "I know" he said as a big yellow m appeared in the sky. "seriously McDonalds?" you said rolling your eyes "it's 3 am dad!". "yes i know, perfect time for a burger" he said making you laugh. you both ordered a burger and a milkshake, you sat down on a bench. you just enjoyed the food together. "just like old times" your dad said. "you did this often?" you asked him. "WE used to do this quite often, i remember this one time we came back from a trip and your mom was dying for something to eat. you were peacefully sleeping in the back. You were slowly waking up until you saw the yellow m in the sky, you immediately were wide awake." he said laughing. you smiled at the story.
"I'm sorry that i left without saying anything dad" you said to him. "it's okay, i understand, you've been thru a lot" he says. "but you've been thru a lot too, i should have been there for you" you say. he hugged you tightly. "that's the thing y/n, you didn't have to, i'm your dad. it's my duty to be there for you, not the other way around" he says "i'm sorry for being a bad dad". "don't say that, you're a great dad. look at where we are right now" you say. "eating burgers in the middle of the night?" he said questioning. "yes that too, but i meant together. besides it's sounds like you didn't had the best role model on being a dad" you say. "I don't deserve you" he said back. "nah your wrong, you deserve every smile you put on my face" you say hugging him. you ate your burgers and made stupid jokes together. it was really like you were a kid again, not a worry in the world.
"so how's living with Peter and May?" he asks you. "good, i just really wish i had my own place" you say. "I can get you a place" your dad offered. "that's sweet dad, but i want to do it myself" you say to him. "i have a job now, it's gonna take a while to get enough money but you know, i'm working on it" you tell him. "you have a job?" he asked surprised "where?". "I'm a tour guide at the museum" you say proudly. "that's great!" he said and you could really see how proud he was of you. "and i picked up singing lessons and it's going really well. i booked my first gig with my band" you tell him. "no way! i'm so proud of you sweetheart" you dad says to you.
"i have an idea, we're going to look for your own place, i pay. and then you can either pay me back monthly or you promise me you give me tickets to all your concerts for the rest of your life, plus an autograph" he says smiling. "deal" you say laughing while jokingly shaking his hand. "alright, now let's get you home" he said before he dropped you of at May's apartment. "it was great seeing you again, am i seeing you next Wednesday?" he asked you. "yes, see you next Wednesday, i'll send you the tickets for the gig" you said smiling at him. "I'll keep you to that, i'll text you for house shopping" he said "sleep well sweetheart". "sleep well dad" you said before walking up to the apartment, directly letting yourself fall into your bed falling asleep immediately.
[few days later]
today you were going to look for a house for yourself. you finally got your driving license and May said you could borrow her car for today. you drove to the address your dad gave you, he was already waiting for you. "morning" you said to him as you gave him a hug. "good morning" he said back. "what do you think" he asked you pointing to the house. it was a small house a 30 minute drive from the city in the country side. it looked like a little cottage.
