=Sabre's POV=
The day had come.
Time and Elemental's battle.
In all honestly, I was terrified. Most of the time, these fights ended badly. heh.. Time.... Anyways, I was scared! Yeah, it wasn't me fighting, but what if Time gets hurt!? Or worse!?
I stared across the lake, looking towards the more open Savannah. That's where Time said he was going to lead Elemental.
I flinched as I felt a watery hand on my shoulder. "What is wrong, Sabre? You still won't tell me what is happening with you lately." He spoke softly. I turned and stared up at him. I couldn't just leave his side, he was so kind, like a parent, but at the same time, he was so evil! I let out a shaky breath as I quivered beneath his glare.
"Pl-Please take it out on me, and not the others..." I got out. Elemental raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"
"Time Steve confronted me, he told me the t-truth..." I stammered, my happy, confident façade failing as I tried to find words. "And I can't work with a villain.. I'm so sorry..." Elemental just stared at me, his eyes darkened. He raised a hand, sending it across my face. I staggered backwards and fell, holding my cheek as pained tears clouded my blindfolded vision.
I watched as Elemental turned and flew off, disappearing from my sight. This really sucked. Why did Elemental have to be evil..? It wasn't fair.. I hugged my knees to my chest and just sat there silently, almost pouting like an upset child.
Thoughts about all the Steves I had lost filled my head as I stared off. How I failed them. How I couldn't save them. I was only broken out of this miserable trance when I heard a voice calling my name.
"Sabre, there you are! Time Steve is here!" Shark called. He slowed to a stop as I stood. "You alright, Sabs..?" He asked, a bit worried. I nodded and wiped away a tear that had slipped from underneath my bandana.
"You sure..? You can tell me anything, buddy.." He reassured me, pulling me into a hug. Shark had always been like a big brother to me. I smiled a bit. "Thanks, Sharky.." I said.
"Let's go back to the house, okay? Time's over there already." He patted me on the back as he pulled away from the hug, leading me back to the house. I was so grateful to have people like Shark... Rainbow... Nathan, Moose, and Galaxy... Even Time, who I still barely knew.
We got back to the house, where Time was talking with Rainbow. Shark and I joined them. "Where are the others?" I asked. "They're staying inside so they don't get hurt." Shark answered. I nodded. "Fair enough."
Time glanced at me as Rainbow came over to hug me. "I know when Elemental is showing up to battle. He'll be here in two minutes." He said. I looked down and began to space out again, before Rainbow squeezed me and Shark placed a hand on my shoulder. "Sabre.. Focus.." Shark told me.
I began to focus on my breathing, nodding to Shark thankfully. Rainbow bumped his head against my shoulder, his soft, fluffy hair bouncing a bit. I smiled and pat him.
"Get inside. Now." Time suddenly said. I backed up, looking around frantically for Elemental. Shark ushered Rainbow and I inside, but I pulled away. "Sabre, what-" "Stay safe, guys, I'm gonna head out with Time just in case he gets hurt." I interrupted Shark. I showed them my satchel, which held some healing and regeneration potions.
Shark and Rainbow glanced at each other, worried, but finally Shark nodded. "Be safe, Elan." He said. "Elan-?" Rainbow asked. I shut the doors and walked over to Time.... Time-s..?
I stared at the three near-identical Time Steves. "Wh-Wha--"
"Calm down, Sabre." One of them said. "These are mimics. I created copies of myself to help fight Elemental Steve."
I assumed that this was the original Time Steve. "Oh... Do they talk?" I wondered. Time shook his head no.
"hm.." I jolted back as a big chunk of dirt appeared between the Time Steves and I. The three flew up, then began to lead Elemental away, using their lightning to aggravate him.
Ohh, boy. This fight was going to last a while.
=Shark's POV=
"Who the heck is Elan?" Rainbow questioned again. I tilted my head. "He didn't tell you?" I asked. Sabre only told his closest friends his real name, and from what I know, Sabre was even closer to Rainbow than to me.
"Tell me what?" Rainbow prodded. "His real name. Sabre is just an alias." I responded. "whAT-!?" the small Steve shouted. I laughed a bit. "Why wouldn't he tell me!?" He pouted.
"Well, I mean, He did tell me that you two were friends before you lost your memories, so maybe he told you while your home was still around?" I guessed. Rainbow thought for a bit, then nodded. "That seems reasonable.. But I like the name Sabre better." He claimed.
=Sabre's POV=
I sprinted across the huge slope of dirt Elemental had created, keeping an eye on each of the Time Steves. It was hard to tell the three apart originally, but now that they were so far away, it was a struggle. I noticed that the mimics had silver buttons on their coats, rather than gold ones, and one had a blue neckerchief while the other had a red one, the original Time Steve having a gold colored one.
Elemental struck one of the three from the sky. I ran over and readied a regeneration potion, then helped the mimic with the blue neckerchief drink. He hopped back up after an appreciative nod, then launched back into the sky
I watched the sky again, waiting for another to fall. I also noticed that the times on their clock masks were different, Time's reading 6:00 while the others' read times like 8:23 and 3:47. ...I think.
I climbed up a tree Elemental had sprouted from the dirt pillar he had made. I made my way through the branches and leaves, peeking above and grabbing onto some ice from another pillar. I pulled myself up and sprinted along the slippery surface.
Another Time fell. I slid down the pillar and landed on some stone, giving him a healing potion. This was the mimic with the red neckerchief.
He got back up and flew into the sky again to resume battle. I continued to watch. I was surprised at how much endurance Elemental Steve had, due to him fighting against three versions of the person he couldn't defeat.
I made my way to another dirt pillar, yelping and turning as a large amount of lightning went off. A blue neckerchief fell from the sky, and only two Times remained. ... I went over and caught it as it drifted down.
Poor guy..
I tied it around my wrist and turned to climb higher as the fight continued to rise past the clouds. I assumed that Time would want the neckerchief back.
There was another roar of thunder as the red neckerchief fell. Time was losing. I saw him dart across the sky to my left. He dipped behind a lopsided pillar of stone. He must be hurt if he's hiding. I thought.
I ran over and readied another regeneration potion. I glanced around for Elemental, who was taking a quick break on another tree.
Something caught my eye, a little black orb flying through the air. What the heck? What was that? Whatever it was, it was going straight for Time. I quickly jumped across a gap between two pillars, darting in front of Time as the orb-- a potion-- hit me. There was a sound of glass shattering as a liquid spilled over me, potion particles exploding through the air.
Pain.
My body collapsed, a loud ringing overtaking my hearing. I couldn't move. This felt like harming and weakness. Someone grabbed me and put something to my lips. An odd, spicy liquid spilled down my throat. I coughed as my body regained its health and strength. Regeneration.
Time lifted me up. I head some noises. He was probably yelling at Elemental over something.. I think... Maybe..? I couldn't tell..
I blacked out.
(Hey, at least it wasn't Time who got hit ;] )
